Homestead Harvest makes casual survival more rewarding through animal care, farming, exploration, and hands-on mining.
Build a cozy homestead with peaceful Looting Shears, five versatile Mattock tiers, craftable alloys, and convenient inventory access to your shulker boxes.
Caretaker’s Looting Shears
Gather resources from supported creatures without killing them. Collect leather from cows, feathers from chickens, wool from sheep, string from spiders, and more.
Each creature has a five-minute harvest cooldown by default. Feed an animal its breeding food to reset that cooldown and give its next harvest a bonus. Looting increases your yields, while Efficiency, Unbreaking, and Mending help improve your shears.
Hostile creatures remain hostile, so harvesting them still takes care!
Pioneer’s Cutter Mattock
Combine pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe work in one tool. Progress through five materials:
- Copper
- Electrum
- Hepatizon
- Diamond
- Netherite
Sneak while mining to harvest connected matching ores or logs. Veinminer-style harvesting respects your tool’s durability and material tier, with drops moved to your position.
Right-click dirt or grass to till a 3×3 patch. Right-click mature crops to harvest a 3×3 area and automatically replant using seeds or planting items from the drops.
Electrum and Hepatizon
Craft two new alloys using familiar survival materials. Electrum favors speed and enchantability, while Hepatizon offers greater durability and a larger vein-harvesting limit.
Shulker Box QoL
Manage shulker contents directly from your inventory:
- Right-click items onto a shulker box to store them.
- Right-click with an empty cursor to retrieve the last stored stack.
- Hold a shulker box and right-click an empty slot to unpack it.
- Hover over a box to preview its 27 storage slots.
Configuration
Adjust harvest cooldowns, feeding bonuses, vein limits, and activation controls. Vein mining, area farming, and inventory shulker storage can be enabled or disabled individually.
Installation
Requires Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1, Fabric Loader, Fabric API, and Java 21. Install Homestead Harvest and Fabric API on both the client and server.
Current build status
The packaged mod passed 20 automated Minecraft GameTests. Manual client gameplay, visual checks, and normal dedicated-server validation remain incomplete.
