The mod has been rewritten for 1.16.x versions to remove unnecessary features and code, to make the mod as simple as possible while retaining some balance.
It adds a new item called "Combined Flesh" that can be cooked in the smoker or on campfire to make one piece of leather.
To craft Combined Flesh you will need:
5 rotten flesh in a X shaped pattern in crafting table,
placed like in the example:
It can be cooked in a smoker,
or on a campfire:
Mod requires Fabric mod loader to run.

Is there a 1.16.5 version? Or does the 1.16.4 one work on it?
In reply to niko_artz:
It should work for 1.16.5, if it doesn't, please reply here so that I update it.
In reply to CodenameRevy:
It works perfectly, thanks!
Does this require it to be installed on both server and client? Thanks! :D
In reply to fracciondelcuarto:
Yes the mod needs to be installed on both server and client.
I made a Chinese translation for myself, but if you need this just take it.. though my English is not very professional

Cool, thanks! I'll include it in the next update.
So this is where mcdonalds meat comes from?
In reply to ocsonic:
Mostly :)
Gotta be honest here, having to kill five zombies, two spiders and a skeleton just to make one combined flesh that you can't even turn into leather until you have access to a smoker is completely bonkers.
I'm trying to think of times that this might be useful... A world with livestock and villagers disabled? An ocean start? A world where you have literal hundreds of chests filled to the brim with rotten flesh, strings and bonemeal?
I mean, a lot of these mods overdo it by having it be something goofy, like straight-up flesh -> furnace -> leather, but this is arguably worse.

Thanks for leaving a feedback!
The reason why I chose to have an expensive recipe is because Leather IS expensive and quite a valuable item (it is the core item for Enchantment table for example) and it is designed with Mob Farms in mind, that is why it requires to be smoked.
I had other Flesh-to-Leather mods in mind when making this mod, and having 2+ stacks of leather before having a full iron gear is even more bonkers in my opinion :P
In reply to nosajmi:
Well, more than 42k people disagrees with you and so do I. If those mods you mentioned are goofy, why merely having to obtain 4 wood logs and more 4 rotten flesh is any worse at all? That said, how else would you make the item useful? By magically make pretty leather from a damned zombie flesh only by putting it in a crafting table? And why on earth would you find it difficult to obtain? Zombies are the most abundant mob in the game, and you may kill 3 of them and already got 5 rotten flesh. Unable to see "turn the most useless item in MC, in a fair and plausible way, into a cheep early-game warranty to mid-game's extensive book demand for enchantments" as useful? Now that's bonkers.
Tbh i feel like it takes a lot of flesh for how much i get back, seeing that this is the only mod of its kind for fabric is there any chance for a config file update? maybe allow the player to set the amount of leather they get out of crafting the recipe? Still great to have the option though!
In reply to RetroAech:
You can make a datapack that will smelt flesh into leather or make your own recipes. Just go on Planetminecraft and find a datapack or use a datapack generator online.
In reply to xAlicatt:
Thats actually really interesting to know! Thank you for this!
