


Haven't really noticed many balanced enchantment mods updated to the newest versions of Minecraft, so I thought I'd make my own. See an enchantment you don't like? Added by another enchantments mod? No problem! Disable it in the config. This is a Forge mod by the way.
Weapon Enchantments
Butchering
Type: Axe
Maximum Level: 3
Deals increased damage to animals.
Inferno
Type: Crossbow
Maximum Level: 2
Sets arrows shot on fire, and sets mobs on fire near the arrow and near the projectile impact. (Very fun with multishot or piercing). Level increases the range of the mobs to be set on fire. Does not ignite pets.
Maelstrom
Type: Trident
Maximum Level: 3
Damages mobs near the trident and sucks mobs in towards it. Does not damage or move pets.
Aquatic Restoration
Type: Trident
Maximum Level: 2
Regenerates durability when the item is held in water or in rain.
This is a treasure enchantment by default so it will not appear in the enchantment table.
Cannot be combined with mending.
Retribution
Type: Crossbow
Maximum Level: 5
Deals extra damage to illagers (which doesn't include witches or ravagers). Give those pillagers a taste of their own medicine!
Keen Point
Type: Crossbow
Maximum Level: 3
Increases arrow damage with the same rate as power.
Poison Aspect
Type: Sword
Maximum Level: 2
Applies poison to the target, for 5 seconds. Level 2 increases the rate of damage of the poison.
Cannot be applied with fire aspect or wither aspect.
Outpour
Type: Trident
Maximum Level: 5
Deals increased damage to fire mobs, and also extinguishes mobs that are on fire.
Torrent
Type: Trident
Maximum Level: 3
Increases swimming speed while the trident is held.
Vampiric
Type: Sword
Maximum Level: 2
Has a chance to heal the wielder 1 heart on hit, which increases with level. It will only heal if the attack cooldown is full.
The user will not be healed if the target is an undead mob.
This is a treasure enchantment by default so it will not appear in the enchantment table.
Weighted Blade
Type: Sword + axe
Maximum Level: 2
Has a chance to inflict weakness to a target when a critical hit is dealt, which increases with level. Inflicts weakness 2 at level 2.
Wither Aspect
Type: Sword
Maximum Level: 2
Applies wither to the target, for 10 seconds. Level 2 increases the rate of damage of the wither.
Cannot be applied with fire aspect or poison aspect.
This is a treasure enchantment by default so it will not appear in the enchantment table.
Armour Enchantments
Obsidian Skull
Type: Helmet
Maximum Level: 4
Reduces damage when flying into walls with the Elytra.
Can be found on enchanted books in end city chests.
Searing Touch
Type: Chestplate (+ other armour on anvil)
Maximum Level: 2
Has a chance to light mobs that hit you on fire, which increases per level, and is rolled separately for each piece of armour with this enchantment.
Searing can only be enchanted on a chestplate at an enchantment table, but can be put on other armour pieces at an anvil (this is the same as Thorns).
The duration of the fire is 2 seconds x the number of total levels of searing on the player's armour, meaning the maximum duration is 16 seconds, if the player has level 2 on every armour piece, and provided that the 1/4 chance occurs for each armour piece.
Cannot be applied with Depth Strider or Frost Walker when on boots.
Steadfast
Type: Chestplate
Maximum Level: 3
Reduces knockback when the wearer is hit and knocks back the attacker slightly.
Saddle Enchantments
Saddle enchantments cannot be obtained from saddles in the enchantment table, but can be obtained by enchanting books in the enchantment table, in villager trades, and as generated chest loot.
Quickness
Maximum Level: 3
Increases movement speed of horses.
Leaping
Maximum Level: 2
Increases jump height of horses.
Buoyancy
Maximum Level: 1
Allows horses to float in water.
All enchantments listed here are in the latest version. Descriptions for any enchantments present in an older version that have been removed can be viewed with Enchantment Descriptions when in-game.
Loot Additions
The mod also has some additional features related to chest loot. Setting the "discoverable" boolean as false in the config file will prevent the enchantment from appearing in loot.
- Saddles in existing chests have a 50% (configurable) chance to be enchanted with a random saddle enchantment with a random level.
- Aquatic Restoration, Torrent, Outrush, Maelstrom and the vanilla enchantments Respiration, Channeling, Aqua Affinity, Impaling, Riptide, Loyalty, Lure and Luck of the Sea can be found rarely on enchanted books in ocean ruins.
- Searing Touch, Wither Aspect, and the vanilla enchantments Flame, Fire Aspect and Fire Protection can be found rarely on enchanted books in nether fortresses.
- Searing Touch and Inferno enchanted books can be obtained via piglin bartering, with the same weight as a Soul Speed book. An Inferno crossbow can also be obtained.
- Obsidian Skull enchanted books can be found in end cities.
- Poison Aspect enchanted books can be found in jungle temples.
- Frost Walker enchanted books can be found in igloos.
- Retribution and other vanilla enchantments can be found on enchanted books in pillager outposts.
Some chests already had the chance to contain randomly enchanted books, so the new entries above are in addition to existing entries of enchanted books in their loot tables.
Configuration
- Enchantments generating in loot can be toggled in the config file
- Enchantments appearing in trades can be toggled in the config file (use Enchantment Control to control this in 1.15 and older)
- Enchantments can be set as treasure enchantments in the config file, preventing them from appearing in the enchantment table
- All loot modifiers can be configured using a datapack
- If you have Quark Oddities installed and you want to allow these enchantments to be influenced by candles you'll need to add them to the "Influences List" section of the config.
