Dog Whistle 128

Whistle once. Bring your dogs home.

I kept losing tamed wolves mid-build or mid-fight, so Dog Whistle 128 adds one simple tool: a whistle that calls them back to you.

It doesn't modify their AI, movement speed, or pathfinding. It simply recalls them when you need them.

How it works

Right-click with the Dog Whistle to recall every standing tamed dog you own within 128 blocks, in the same dimension and currently loaded.

Dogs that are sitting stay where they are — sitting is treated as an intentional command.

Sneak + Right-click overrides this behavior and recalls sitting dogs as well, for those moments when you really need everyone back.

Only animals tamed by you respond. Wild wolves and other players' pets completely ignore the whistle.

Recalled dogs are placed in free positions near you:

• never stacked into the same block;
• never intentionally placed in dangerous locations;
• lava, fire, magma, cacti, sweet berry bushes, campfires, powder snow, and wither roses are avoided.

Neither compatibility mod is required. Without them, Dog Whistle 128 works normally with vanilla wolves.

Support is tag-based:

#dogwhistle:recallable_dogs

This means other modded canines can be made compatible through a datapack without requiring an update to Dog Whistle 128.

Limits

The whistle searches only:

• within 128 blocks;
• in your current dimension;
• inside currently loaded chunks.

A dog farther away or located in an unloaded chunk cannot be recalled.

A truly global recall system would require persistent position tracking, which is intentionally outside the scope of this mod.

Cooldown

2 seconds

The whistle has no durability and is not consumed.
