Description
Eating nothing but steak forever gets a bit boring, and Diet gives you a reason not to. It tracks five food groups for every player: fruits, grains, proteins, vegetables and sugars. Each food fills the groups it belongs to, hunger slowly drains them again, and keeping a balanced diet gives you bonuses like extra hearts and attack damage. Neglect it and you lose them.
Unofficial port of Diet by C4, for NeoForge and Fabric on 1.21.1. Please report bugs here.

How it works
Click the drumstick button in your inventory to see your diet, or bind a key for it in Controls. Hover over food to see which groups it counts towards. Foods without a group of their own get one from their recipe, so a pumpkin pie counts as sugars and vegetables, and most modded food just works.
Groups go up when you eat and go down as you lose hunger. Eating many groups at once gives a bit less per group, so a varied diet works best over time.
Configuring it
- Food groups, their colours, icons and which foods belong to them are datapacks:
data/<namespace>/diet/groups/and the item tags underdata/diet/tags/item/. - Effects (which bonuses or penalties you get at which levels) are defined in suites:
data/<namespace>/diet/suites/. - Death penalty, decay speed and food overrides are in the server config,
serverconfig/diet-server.tomlin your world. /dietcommands let you check, set, add, subtract, reset and export values.
The mod id, the API and the datapack format are the same as the original, so existing addons, datapacks and configs keep working.
