Better Character-1.20.1-forge-2.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
For Forge 1.20.1
- Added the Chamas (Flames) theme, with a red-and-orange palette, a new background, matching menu buttons, and three music tracks.
- Theme choices now keep their own background and border colors, regardless of the selected theme.
- Outfit extras can be worn with any base clothing, or without a base garment. Up to three extras can be equipped at once; server locks still apply.
- Height and slim/default body choices now remain active with Better Character OFF.
- Cosmetic equipment in the preview preserves PNG transparency without directional shading. In-world lighting is unchanged.
- With Better Character OFF, the in-world editor preview uses the current player renderer, including CPM models and cosmetic equipment. Outside a world, it shows the account skin with selected cosmetics.
- Replaced text-only appearance options with square thumbnails and name tooltips.
- Thumbnails now preserve transparency. The None icon is centered.
- Clothing pages show up to four rows; eyes and hair show up to three.
- Options are grouped by their translated color and style names, with natural numbering.
- Face previews include their matching smile/mouth overlay. Medium and long hair thumbnails use only the overlay.
- Skin textures keep their original resolution; separate 64×64 menu thumbnails are generated from the existing artwork.
- Added server-wide cosmetic rules, personal unlocks, cosmetic items, and a Better Character creative tab.
- Renamed the command to `/bettercharacter` and removed redundant aliases/subcommands.
- Global locks apply to the whole server, including future players. Personal commands affect only the selected players.
- Fixed global unlocks leaving older personal locks active.
- Using a cosmetic item equips it immediately, even if already unlocked or locks are OFF. Successful use consumes the item.
- Added five-second cosmetic withdrawals, with a progress bar and server-side inventory checks.
- Cosmetic permissions persist per world/server and player.
- Added independent cosmetic equipment rendering without occupying armor slots, including support for CPM humanoid anchors.
- Removed decorative frames from cosmetic item icons and improved paginated command feedback.
Update both clients and server together. CPM support follows humanoid anchors; arbitrary custom models may need adjustments. Hybrid-server/plugin combinations still require in-game testing.
