Cyber's Better Animal Models

Better animals without the bells and whistles!

Have you ever looked at the common pigs, chickens, cows, etc, then looked at the horse? You may have noticed a clear difference in design, and how much better the horse looked. As you know, something similar happened in 1.13, but in reverse. So the question is, why make the horse worse when you could make the other animals better? This mod aims to do just that. This mod is very simple in its goal--better animal models but without adding genders, breeds, special care, etc., as some of us simply want the vanilla animals to look a bit better.

As of now, the mod adds better models for the following mobs:

  • Chickens
  • Cows
  • Mooshrooms
  • Sheep
  • Pigs
  • Spiders
  • Cave Spiders
  • Silverfish
  • Wolves
  • Polar Bears
  • Squids
  • Mod Compat:
    • PrimalCore (Bears, Ovis Atre, Steppe Wolf)
    • Sophisticated Wolves (All Wolves)
    • AbyssalCraft (Evil, Demon, and Antimobs, as well as the Coralium Squid)
    • Brown Mooshroom's Brown Mooshroom
    • Quark random texture variants feature. Requires Quark r1.5-149 or later.
    • The Midnight (Nightstag)

There is also a config to disable and enable select models being replaced.

Warning: this mod is NOT compatible with wolf armor. Wolf armor will overwrite the wolf model (including sophisticated wolves!)

Better Animal Models is a client-only mod. Installing it on the server will work, but simply disable it. Clients with Better Animal Models are able connect to vanilla servers (so long as it does not break rules, and they do not have any other non-client mods).
