Description
baseElectric
A Base Metals expansion continuing DrCyano's Electric Advantage, with backwards-compatible upgrades for existing Minecraft 1.10.2 worlds.
Generate electricity, store it in batteries and wire up a working factory. baseElectric adds electrical machinery to basePower, continuing DrCyano's original Electric Advantage with bug fixes and support for existing saves. It replaces Electric Advantage rather than running alongside it.
What Does It Add?
- Generators: Make electricity from sunlight or flowing water, or use a steam-powered generator with baseSteam.
- Wiring and batteries: Run electric conduits between machines, control connections with redstone switches, and fit rechargeable batteries into arrays to store surplus power.
- Processing and assembly: Crush ores, smelt materials in the arc furnace, cook food in the electric oven and automate crafting with the assembler. Use basePower conveyors to move stock between machines.
- Drills and pumps: Collect mined material inside a powered drill, move the drill along electric track, or bring world fluids up through an extending pump shaft.
- Oil and plastics: Refine crude oil in the electric distiller, then use the plastic refinery to turn accepted oil into plastic ingots.
- Growth chambers: Feed the controller electricity, water and dirt to grow plants inside connected chambers.
- Lighting and defence: Light the workshop with LED bars and defend it with powered laser turrets.
Getting Started
Start with copper, steel and bioplastic. Crush potatoes into starch and smelt it for bioplastic, then make the circuit parts and power supply units used in electrical machinery.
A hydroelectric generator, some electric conduit and a battery array make a good first installation. Leave room for the turbine below the generator and arrange flowing water through it. Put a battery into the array, check that it charges, then connect a small load such as an electric oven.
Recipes follow basePower's Normal, Tech Progression or Apocalyptic mode. The Electrician's Handbook covers recipes, wiring, batteries and fault finding.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.10.2, with Forge 12.18.3.2511 or a compatible later 1.10.2 build, and Java 8.
- basePower 2.4.4.110021 or newer for Minecraft 1.10.2.
- Base Metals and MMD OreSpawn.
baseSteam is optional. It supplies steam for the steam-powered generator; solar and hydroelectric installations do not need it.
Moving An Existing Electric Advantage World
baseElectric supports upgrades from the original released Cyano Electric Advantage for Minecraft 1.10.2. The migration carries over blocks, items and machine state, including battery charge, inventories, fluid and unfinished work.
- Back up the complete world and its configuration.
- Remove Power Advantage and Electric Advantage, then install matching basePower and baseElectric builds. If the world also uses Steam Advantage, replace it with baseSteam at the same time. Do not mix the old and new families.
- Open a copy first. Check your machines and contents, then close Minecraft completely and reopen it to check the saved result.
Existing configuration is carried forward when no new baseElectric configuration exists. Keep your backup: rolling back means restoring it, not putting the old jars into a converted world. Add-ons that look for the old mod IDs may need their own update. See the upgrade guide before converting a valued save.
