AutoLatch

AutoLatch automatically closes doors after a short configurable delay. It works with vanilla and modded doors, respects redstone power, and stays lightweight with no GUI or commands. Clean, simple QoL that just works.

AutoLatch is a small utility mod that closes doors a few seconds after you open them. It is designed to feel like a natural extension of vanilla without adding extra systems or clutter.

Features

  • Doors close automatically after a short, configurable delay
  • Works with all standard wooden doors out of the box
  • Iron doors are excluded by default to avoid interfering with redstone builds
  • Supports modded doors that behave like vanilla doors
  • Optional whitelist and blacklist for fine control
  • Respects redstone power so builds behave as expected
  • Optional retry if a door cannot close right away

Behavior

  • Doors close using normal vanilla behavior
  • No forced updates or strange interactions
  • Safe checks prevent issues if a door is broken, moved, or already closed
  • Repeated openings do not stack or cause conflicts

Performance

  • Server-side only
  • Very light impact with simple scheduling
  • No client requirements
  • No GUI, commands, or visual spam

Compatibility

  • Works in singleplayer and on dedicated servers
  • Designed to drop cleanly into modpacks without conflicts

Notes

  • Redstone-powered doors are left alone unless configured otherwise
  • Iron doors are off by default for safety
  • Everything can be adjusted in the config if you want different behavior

Summary

Open a door, walk through, and it shuts behind you. That is it.
