What's new
Ascending Fishers Core 0.5.6
Multiplayer Start Safety & Platform Fixes
Core 0.5.6 is a focused hotfix for the new /startangler multiplayer starting system introduced in 0.5.5.
Existing World Protection
Fixed an issue where the new lobby platform could generate at the normal world spawn of an existing world and overwrite blocks that were already there.
Existing worlds are now protected:
- Existing players no longer automatically generate the new lobby when loading an established world.
- Existing world spawn is left untouched.
- Existing homes are left untouched.
- The new system will only initialize in an older world if
/startangleris deliberately used.
Safer New-World Lobby
The new Ascending Fishers lobby now generates high above the normal world instead of directly on top of the ocean/world spawn.
This prevents the lobby from interfering with normal builds or starter-island areas.
Starter Platform Height Fixes
Fixed several issues with starter islands generating at incorrect heights.
Previously, larger platform counts or certain world-generation conditions could cause platforms to appear:
- Underground
- Far underwater
- At incorrect world-surface heights
Starter islands now:
- Force-load their destination chunk before placement.
- Read the actual generated
WORLD_SURFACEheight. - Generate directly on the visible ocean surface.
- No longer rely on Minecraft's reported sea-level value, which could be incorrect for the Ascending Fishers ocean world.
This has been tested successfully with both small and larger platform counts.
Manual Platform Assignment
Added:
/startangler join
This acts as a manual fallback if a player is not automatically assigned correctly.
- Unassigned players receive the next available starter platform.
- Already-assigned players are teleported back to their saved platform.
Automatic Island Home
On brand-new worlds only, players are automatically given:
/home island
after being assigned their starter platform when FTB Essentials is installed.
Existing worlds do not automatically create or overwrite homes.
Fresh World Detection
Improved detection between:
- Brand-new Ascending Fishers worlds
- Existing/legacy worlds
Fresh-world status now survives relogs and server restarts before /startangler setup is completed.
This prevents new worlds from accidentally being treated as legacy worlds while still protecting older saves.
Other
- Persistent starter-platform assignments remain intact.
- Unused platforms are still assigned to later-joining players first.
- Large multiplayer platform counts remain supported.
- Existing
/startangler <count>behavior remains unchanged.
