Ascending Fishers Core 0.5.5

Multiplayer Start & Angler Guide Update

Core 0.5.5 focuses on improving multiplayer world starts, equipment documentation, and several quality-of-life details around Ascending Fishers systems.

New Multiplayer Starter System

New worlds now begin on a dedicated Ascending Fishers lobby platform instead of immediately placing everyone onto one starter island.

The lobby includes instructions for the new command:

/startangler <count>

This lets players choose how many starter platforms should be created.

Examples:

/startangler 1
Creates one shared starter island.

/startangler 4
Creates four separate starter islands.

Multiplayer Platform Features

  • Supports 1–64 starter platforms.
  • Starter islands are automatically spaced far apart.
  • Larger platform counts automatically use larger placement rings.
  • Existing players are assigned to islands one-by-one.
  • Unused islands are reserved for players who join later.
  • Once all islands have been assigned, additional players cycle through the existing islands.
  • Player island assignments are saved.
  • Assigned starter islands become the player's respawn point.
  • The main world spawn remains the central lobby.
  • /startangler can be used without enabling cheats or requiring OP permissions.
  • World setup can only be initialized once.

Large Multiplayer Fix

Fixed an issue where large island counts such as /startangler 12 could place players at an incorrect Y-level and cause them to fall into the void.

Starter islands now:

  • Use the lobby's known-safe Y-level.
  • Load destination chunks before platform placement.
  • Verify/rebuild the starter platform before teleporting a player.

Large-count multiplayer starts have been tested successfully.

Angler's Arsenal Guide

Added a new official Ascending Fishers guide item:

Angler's Arsenal Guide

The guide explains the custom equipment and upgrade systems used throughout Ascending Fishers.

Topics include:

  • Angler Pole Quantity, Luck, and Speed
  • Pole tier limits
  • Bobbers and Lures
  • Angler's Workbench upgrades
  • Upgrade Strings
  • Upgrade Matrices
  • Ascension Matrix Strings
  • Angler Armor stats
  • Bounty
  • Armor progression
  • Discipline armor bonuses
  • Angler Bow stats and progression
  • Weapon stats and progression
  • Boss weapon upgrades
  • Discipline weapons
  • Hammers and crushing

The guide is registered as a real ascendingfishers item and appears under the Ascending Fishers creative tab.

The guide also safely handles environments where Patchouli is unavailable instead of crashing.

Auto Angler

  • Added the Auto Angler to Minecraft's pickaxe mining tag.
  • Pickaxes are now the preferred tool for breaking an Auto Angler.
  • Breaking is faster and more consistent with the intended tool.

Other

  • Updated internal guide resources for Minecraft 1.21.1 / Patchouli compatibility.
  • Continued compatibility with NeoForge 1.21.1.
