Anti-Infection Blocks introduces a variety of blocks that help protect the player and their builds, especially their base, against monstrous infection mods like Sculk Horde, Fungal Infection: Spore and Dawn of the Flood. These blocks both remove infected blocks and damage infection entities in a configurable range, protecting the player against infections and giving them the means to contruct a base without being overrun by overwhelming numbers of infection mobs and infected blocks.
To get started, craft the Anti-Infection blend in different combinations with wool, stone bricks, obsidian, glass, and concrete powder to make the different types and tiers of Anti-Infection blocks.
The Anti-Infection Blocks included in the mod:
- Basic Anti-Infection Insulation (removes infection blocks one block away, configurable)
- Improved Anti-Infection Insulation (removes infection blocks two blocks away, configurable)
- Premium Anti-Infection Insulation (removes infection blocks four blocks away, configurable)
- Anti-Infection Bricks (highly blast-resistant, removes infection blocks two blocks away, configurable)
- Anti-Infection Glass (highly blast-resistant, removes infection blocks two blocks away, configurable)
- Anti-Infection Gray Concrete (highly blast-resistant, removes infection blocks two blocks away, configurable)
- Anti-Infection Light Gray Concrete (highly blast-resistant, removes infection blocks two blocks away, configurable)
Anti-Infection Blocks supports a number of infection mods, with more support planned for the future (see list below).
Supported mods include:
Dawn of the Flood
The Flesh That Hates
Fungal Infection: Spore
Sculk Horde
Planned mod support for future updates:
Desertification
Entomophobia
The eYes Remastered
From Another World
Moss Overgrowth
Phayriosis Reborn
Prion Infection: Whispers From Within
SCP-610, Flesh that Hates
Withering Away Reborn
(suggestions in the comments?)
Anti-Infection Blocks is highly configurable, intended to allow for appropriate difficulty balancing, depending on the use case or modpack.
Here is a list of the configuration options (as of the latest update):
- The range at which Basic Anti-Infection Insulation will remove infection blocks. Default is 1
- The range at which Improved Anti-Infection Insulation will remove infection blocks. Default is 2
- The range at which the Premium Anti-Infection Insulation will remove infection blocks. Default is 4
- The range at which the Anti-Infection Bricks will remove infection blocks. Default is 2
- The range at which the Anti-Infection Glass will remove infection blocks. Default is 2
- The range at which the Anti-Infection Concrete will remove infection blocks. Default is 2
- Whether Anti-Infection blocks should damage infection entities within range. Default is true
- The percentage chance (from 0 to 100) Anti-Infection blocks will damage infection entities within range ever second. Default is 50
- The damage Basic Anti-Infection Blocks will inflict on infection entities. Default is 1
- The damage Improved Anti-Infection Blocks will inflict on infection entities. Default is 1
- The damage Premium Anti-Infection Blocks will inflict on infection entities. Default is 2
- The damage Anti-Infection Bricks will inflict on infection entities. Default is 1
- The damage Anti-Infection Glass will inflict on infection entities. Default is 1
- The damage Anti-Infection Concrete will inflict on infection entities. Default is 1
- There are also individual config options as to whether the Anti-Infection blocks remove blocks and target entities from each compatible infection, allowing users to target one infection but leave another unaffected if desired
Future plans:
Support for more infection mods
Porting to Neoforge 1.21.1+
Adding all 16 colors of Anti-Infection concrete
Possibly adding a later-game Infection Suppression Block that prevents the spawning of infection entities as well as hurting whatever comes within range and removing infection blocks
Possibly adding block that prevents block infections in the first place instead of undoing them, or reformatting the mod for that purpose
Possibly adding a block like, quote "some sort of carpet/ground covering like a silver/copper plate which only hurts entities standing on it? like a magma block but specific to the infected", as suggested by bowosdivision
Possibly adding a config and procedure that prevent anti-infection blocks from being placed near infection entities, preventing their use as an offensive weapon
Configuration options for whether silver is required for infection blend recipe (only applies if another mod includes properly tagged silver, otherwise defaults to iron)
Improving (or removing) the particle effect when mobs are damaged
Possibly accounting for converted counterparts of normal blocks instead of removing them outright
Updating mod logo to match latest bricks texture
Known issues:
None at this time
Note:
It is recommended to sometimes still use the built-in methods to remove infection blocks included in some infection mods since in v1.x this mod does not restore infected blocks to their original state but instead removes them outright
1.20.1 is the current supported version. A NeoForge 1.21.1 port is planned once the mod is complete and if the current version receives enough support
You are welcome to include this mod in any modpack, if you provide credit and a link to this page (Curseforge modpacks should do that automatically)
