Description
🥀 The Blighted Grove
Every grove has a shadow. This is hers.
Somewhere beyond the serene cherry-blossom realms is their reflection — a place where the petals fell, the water turned, and the quiet became a held breath. The Blighted Grove is a standalone, persistent world you reach by a single Waystone, built on one cruel idea:
Here, the land is what kills you.
No waves of monsters to grind. Just ten rotted sub-biomes across five zones, each more hostile than the last, and the slow art of reading the ground beneath your feet. And at the very end — something ancient, corrupted, and waiting.
🌑 Five zones, ten faces, one descent
Each zone splits into two terrain variants — same palette, different ground underfoot:
| Zone | Sub-biomes | What it does to you |
|---|---|---|
| Witherbloom | Grove (rolling hills) / Clearing (open meadow) | Safe haven — violet pools that don't bite |
| Thornchoke | Thicket (dense ridges) / Hollow (low, open tar) | Thornsnares that slow and poison; tar that mires |
| Bloodspore | Mesa (terraced plateaus) / Gorge (carved ravines) | Neon sporewater in the cracks; the ground glows wrong |
| Miasma | Bog (flooded swamp) / Mound (fungal rises) | Toxic green miasma that rots you on contact |
| Mourning | Spire (jagged peaks) / Barrow (burial ground) | A gauntlet of meltwater and flame — and something worse |
Connected water table — the same corrupted waterline flows across all biome borders. Day/night weather shifts the fog from oppressive to suffocating.
☠️ The hazard is the gameplay
Nothing hurts you from the air — only what you step in. Tar mires your steps. Miasma rots you. Sporewater sickens. Thornsnares catch and bleed. Every crossing is a read: where's the safe footing, and is the reward on the far side worth the dose? The Mourning zone is the test — dense flame, poisonous meltwater, and very little safe ground.
🐉 The Blight Dragon
Deep in the Mourning highlands, basalt pillars topped with eerie flame mark something's territory. The Blight Dragon — a corrupted wyrm trailing void poison — nests among the spires. It hits hard, it poisons on contact, and it doesn't give up the chase easily. Kill it for a massive haul of Void Essence and Voidstone. It won't come back.
🟣 Why brave it
- Void Essence — kill Void creatures and Graveblooms in the deeper zones, or mine glowing Blight Nodes from the rock and refine them at an Arcane Workbench.
- The Blight Dragon — the biggest Void Essence payoff in one fight.
- A gothic build palette — corrupted soil, dead ash, bone, basalt, and glowing sporecaps to haul home.
- The descent itself — a haunted, hand-tuned place to explore and be unsettled by.
🕯️ How to enter (step by step)
- Open an Arcane Workbench (the basic one — tier 1)
- Go to the Miscellaneous tab
- Craft the Blighted Waystone — costs 4 Basalt + 4 Dirt + 6 Void Essence
- Place the Waystone block on the ground
- Step onto it — you'll teleport into the Blighted Grove
To return home, step on any Waystone inside the Grove. You'll land back exactly where you left from. Everything you build in the Grove persists — it'll be there next time you visit.
🛠️ Honest notes
- Standalone — does not require Project Sakura; the "twin" is in the theme.
- Vanilla-safe — not one vanilla file is modified. The realm is its own namespaced assets plus a small companion plugin that only handles travel.
- v1.1 — 10 sub-biomes, connected fluid, shifting weather, a mini-boss, and a reason to go deep. Please report any rough edges you find.
⚖️ The grove gave. This one only takes.
Craft a Waystone and go down.
