Description
Glymera Backrooms
Noclip out of reality. Somewhere in your world a lone office door appears. Step through and you are in Level 0 - the endless yellow offices of the Backrooms. Find the Lost Keys, find the right door, and you reach Level 5: an endless 1930s grand hotel where you can buy a room of your own.
Two complete, generated-on-the-fly worlds, 105 new furniture pieces and blocks, hand-built creatures with their own sounds, and private hotel rooms protected in 3D.
Quick Start
- A door appears - now and then a lone office door turns up near a player in the normal world. Open it and step through.
- Level 0 - search filing cabinets, lockers and fridges for Lost Keys.
- Key + office door - hold a Lost Key and use an office door in Level 0. It takes you to the hotel (it costs the key).
- Level 5 - the hotel - 9 floors, lifts in the lobbies, every guest room has its own number.
- Buy a room - hold 10 Lost Keys (a suite: 20) and use the door of a free room twice. It is yours.
- Come back any time - right-click your Room Key to jump into your rooms from anywhere.
The way out: drink Almond Water (found in the containers) and you wake up where you came from.
Level 0 - The Backrooms
- An endless maze of damp carpet, yellow wallpaper and humming fluorescent lights - dark zones included.
- Office furniture everywhere: filing cabinets, lockers and mini fridges hold loot (editable, see
/gbackrooms loot). - Creatures: Smilers (a grin in the dark - do not look them in the eye), Facelings (faceless office workers, most of them harmless), Hounds (on all fours) and Skin-Stealers that look like you - and wear the face of whoever they are hunting.
- You cannot break the walls, only the furniture.
Level 5 - The Terror Hotel
- An endless 1930s grand hotel with 9 floors: long corridors with numbered guest rooms, suites, lobbies with reception desks, ballrooms, restaurants, lounges and libraries, through-going stairwells.
- Working lifts in every lobby with a floor menu - way signs in the corridors point to the nearest one.
- Every room has its own running number on a brass plaque (e.g.
3-0427= floor 3, room 427). - Creatures of the hotel:
- Deathmoth - flies the lit corridors, eye-spot wings and a skull on its back, spits a caustic fluid.
- Deathrat - black, with glowing red horn tips; when one comes for you, it squeals and the wall lamps flicker.
- Ants (Entity 89) - shaggy black fur balls with a grin full of teeth. Always five of them. They roll up to chase you and bite like leeches.
- and now and then a Skin-Stealer wearing your look.
Your own room
- Buy any free room or suite with Lost Keys. Up to 20 rooms per player (configurable).
- A surprise in the wardrobe: every newly bought room comes with a random piece of hotel furniture (a suite with two). The wardrobes and trunks of free rooms stay locked until someone takes the room.
- Protected in 3D - rooms stacked on top of each other are protected separately. Only you (and the players you trust) can open the door, build or break inside. Floor, walls, ceiling and door are always safe.
- Rooms next to each other or back to back merge automatically into one big apartment.
- The service panel beside your door: hand out or take back keys, ban players (they are put out at once, even if they come by teleport), or give the room up (it is restored to its original state). Keys and bans are per room and also work for offline players.
- Creatures never spawn in or enter a room that has an owner.
- Room Key: right-click to see all your rooms (and the ones you have a key for) and jump into one.
Furniture & blocks
