Makes crystal blocks drop themselves instead of shards, then lets you cut them back into their original shard value at the Builder’s Workbench. Lightweight, balanced, server-side, and supports Hytale 0.5.0–0.6.5.
Crystal Drops is a lightweight Quality of Life mod for Hytale that makes crystal blocks much easier to use for building without changing their resource value.
Instead of dropping shards when mined, supported crystal blocks now drop the crystal block itself. If you need the shards, simply take the crystal to the Builder's Workbench and cut it back into the same amount of shards the block originally provided.
This keeps crystal gathering balanced while making decorative crystal blocks far more practical to collect and build with.

Installation
- Download the .jar file from the Files tab.
- Navigate to your Hytale installation or server folder.
- Place the file inside the /mods folder.
- Fully restart the game or server.
- Mine a supported crystal block to confirm Crystal Drops is active.
How It Works
Normally, mining a crystal block converts it directly into crystal shards.
With Crystal Drops installed:
Mine Crystal Block → Receive Crystal Block
Need the crafting material instead?
Crystal Block → Builder's Workbench → Original Crystal Shards
The conversion is designed to preserve the crystal's original resource value, allowing you to freely choose between building materials and crafting materials without creating an exploit.
