ZTV ZEcho
Every familiar face has a story.
The healer who saved your dungeon run. The stranger who helped you defeat a rare. The rival who keeps showing up at your war crates.
ZEcho helps you remember them.
Build a personal encounter history of the players you meet across Azeroth, complete with tags, notes, locations, and alerts when they return.
Your Personal Encounter History
Type /zecho to browse the players you’ve crossed paths with. See where you met, how often you’ve encountered them, and the details that make them worth remembering.
Select a player to open their Encounter Card, featuring:
-
First and most recent encounter.
-
Total encounter count.
-
Last location and activity context.
-
Guild, class, race, and faction.
-
Personal tags and notes.
-
Recorded PvP wins and losses.
-
Their five most recent encounters.
Familiar Face Alerts
Recognize returning players with a Familiar Face Detected popup showing their name, previous location, and encounter count.
Tagged rivals trigger a more prominent RIVAL SPOTTED alert with a raid-warning sound. Hover over a known player to see “You’ve met before” in their tooltip, along with your tag and note.
Remember Your Rivals
When available game data identifies hostile players involved in your world PvP death, ZEcho records them and automatically tags them as Rivals.
Track recorded defeats against individual opponents and see the killing blow called out in chat when it can be identified.
Tags, Favorites, and Notes
Give each encounter meaning with Rival, Ally, Helpful, Memorable, or Avoid tags. Mark favorites and save notes without adding anyone to your friends list.
-
“Excellent healer—invite again.”
-
“Helped me take down a rare.”
-
“Always contests war crates.”
Manage tags through the ZEcho window, supported right-click menus on portraits and chat names, or slash commands.
Find the Players You Remember
Search your history by name, note, zone, or guild. Filter by tag and sort by most recent encounter, most encountered, name, or guild.
Click a guild to view everyone you’ve encountered from that guild.
Automatic Recording
ZEcho builds your history using information available to addons through:
-
Players you target or mouse over.
-
Party and raid members.
-
Hostile player nameplates, skipped in cities by default.
-
Available combat-log information, with a targeting fallback.
Recording and PvP tracking depend on the information WoW makes available to addons.
Your encounter history stays local in your SavedVariables. ZEcho does not share it with other players.
