ZChat

ZChat 1.0.0

First release of ZChat, a Discord-style messenger based on Whisper Messenger by F0rty_tw0 (MIT licence).

💬 Discord look

• No more bubbles: your messages on the left, the other person's on the right, with avatar, class-coloured name and time
• Consecutive messages are grouped; hover one to highlight it and see its time
• Hover action bar on every message to react, reply or copy
• Replies show the quoted message above the name with a connecting line
• "Name is typing..." at the bottom and a "Jump to present" bar when you scroll up
• Message box reads "Message @Name", or "#Group" in group chats

🎨 Themes & effects

• New Discord theme (default)
• Custom theme: choose the base theme, colour and your own image from ZChat_Media\Themes
• 17 animated effects, most based on WoW classes, usable with any theme

🔔 Sounds

• 46 built-in sounds plus sounds from other addons (LibSharedMedia)
• Give each contact their own sound (right-click > Contact sound)
• Your own sounds: drop 1.ogg ... 20.ogg into ZChat_Media\Sounds and name them in game

⚡ Quick whisper bar

• Whisper on a player opens a floating bar you can drag anywhere instead of the game's whisper box
• Works with Midnight's new Whisper menu, even for names with accents

👥 Contacts

• Battle.net-style list: favourites playing your game first, then everyone in your game, then the rest
• Horde / Alliance glow for friends who are playing
• • button to invite a friend to your group
• Clicking a friend opens your chat in the Whispers tab

💬 Whispers

• Sorted by most recent chat, pinned chats on top
• Horde / Alliance glow for people in game
• Messages are kept 7 days by default (up to 30)

📁 Your own files

• Your sounds and theme images go in Interface\AddOns\ZChat_Media (next to the addon), so updates never delete them

🧰 Other

• Quick replies are sent as soon as you pick one
• Clicking a message notification opens that chat directly
• Raid target icons such as {rt3} or {skull} now show as icons
• New Help page in Options explaining sounds, themes and the whisper bar
• New slash commands: /zchat and /zc
• Fully translated into all supported languages
