Description
WoWGPT is a World of Warcraft addon that adds an in-game AI-style assistant — a chat companion that lives inside the game, not in a browser tab.
At its core, it’s a conversational helper for playing WoW. You open a chat window (or use slash commands), ask questions in plain language, and get answers about things that matter while you play: quests, where you are, gear upgrades, talents, and achievements. It reads live data from your character — tracked quests, zone, equipped items, spec — so replies are tied to what you’re actually doing, not generic wiki text.
What makes it more than a simple FAQ bot:
- Multiple agents — You’re not locked into one personality. Arcanum, the default, is a roleplaying sentient spellbook that guides you with a magical, in-character tone. WoWGPT is the straightforward guide. You can import community agents others share, pick a default agent in Settings, and switch agents from the window when you want a different vibe.
- Two layers of intelligence — Built-in agents answer from game APIs instantly (no internet). For open-ended questions, an optional desktop companion can connect to an LLM via chat log +
/wgpt bridge on, using each agent’s own system prompt. - Feels like part of the game — Replies show in the WoWGPT window and in your normal chat frame, with a minimap button for quick access. It supports Retail and Classic flavors.
Summary: WoWGPT is an in-game chat companion for World of Warcraft — part quest helper, part gear advisor, part roleplaying spellbook — with swappable agents and optional real AI when you want it.
