WhoNeedsThis is a lightweight account-wide item helper created for World of Warcraft: Forever.

It keeps track of your characters, their equipped gear, specializations and professions and adds useful information directly to item tooltips.

Instead of wondering which alt could use an item, WhoNeedsThis tells you immediately.

## Features

### Account-wide Gear Comparison

WhoNeedsThis automatically stores the equipment of your characters and compares items against their latest known gear.

Item tooltips can show:

- Which character would receive an upgrade
- Character class and specialization
- Current item level compared to the new item
- Whether the character already has something better
- Weapon-set comparisons instead of simple slot-only comparisons

### Advanced Weapon Handling

Weapon comparisons take complete weapon setups into account, including:

- One-handed weapons
- Two-handed weapons
- Main-hand-only weapons
- Off-hand weapons
- Shields
- Held-in-offhand items
- Dual wield
- Fury Warrior Titan's Grip
- Mixed Fury weapon setups
- Empty off-hand situations

This avoids false upgrade suggestions caused by comparing a new weapon against an unusable or artificially empty equipment slot.

### Crafting Recipe Support

Recipe tooltips can show which characters have the matching profession and whether they are able to learn the recipe.

The addon tracks:

- Professions per character
- Profession skill levels
- Expansion-specific profession tiers
- Already known recipes
- Characters with insufficient profession skill

### Automatic Character Scanning

Character data is updated automatically when relevant changes occur, including:

- Login / reload
- Equipment changes
- Specialization changes
- Profession changes

Manual scanning is also available when needed.

### Character Overview

Use the minimap button to open the character overview.

The overview displays:

- Saved characters
- Class and specialization
- Level
- Professions
- Profession skill levels
- Last scan time
- Data freshness

Old saved character data can also be removed directly from the overview.

### Minimap Launcher

- Left click: Open character overview
- Right click: Open settings

The minimap button position is saved between sessions.

### English / German Localization

WhoNeedsThis automatically starts in:

- German on German WoW clients
- English on all other client languages

DE / EN can also be switched live without /reload.

### Quiet Background Operation

Automatic equipment and profession scans run silently.

WhoNeedsThis does not fill your chat with routine scan messages.

## Commands

/wnt  
Opens WhoNeedsThis.

/wnt scan  
Manually rescans the current character.

Toggles additional debug information.
