A guild quiz bot for World of Warcraft. Every few minutes a trivia question appears in guild chat, and the first player to type the right answer gets a point. Daily and weekly standings keep the guild competing.
TriviaFlow is made for WoW Forever and also runs on TBC Classic Anniversary. It is a beta (0.13) and is only shared with my guild for now.
## How it works
An officer starts the quiz. The addon posts a question like:
[Vanilla WoW] Which fire lord is the final boss of Molten Core?
Anyone in the guild answers in guild chat:
Q Ragnaros
Small typing mistakes are forgiven. The first correct answer wins a point, and only your first answer to each question counts. You do not need the addon to play, but with it you get a sound when a new question arrives (on by default, with eight sounds to choose from).
## For players
Type these in guild chat. Each one is the whole message:
- Q <answer> - answer the open question
- quiztop - whispers you today's top 5
- quizweek - whispers you this week's top 5
- quizlast - whispers you last week's top 5
- quizme - whispers you your own points and rank
- quizremove - flag a bad question. When two players flag it, it is removed for good.
Players on the same points share a rank (1, 1, 3).
## For officers
- Only a character who can edit officer notes can run the quiz.
- One options window: wait time between questions, time to answer, minimum members online, question pace, answer letter, question sets, hourly standings, daily and weekly reports.
- The weekly winner is announced automatically on the first day of a new week.
- Several officers can share the quiz. The addon coordinates over a hidden addon channel, and another officer takes over if the running one leaves.
## Questions
About 2,000 questions in five sets: Vanilla WoW, TBC WoW, general knowledge, and Swedish. Many WoW questions are counts from real quests and recipes, each checked against Wowhead for the right client. A question is not repeated for 14 days.
## Important to know
Scores are stored in the officer notes of players who score, and anything already written in such a note is replaced. Read the README before you start the quiz. The score code stops mistakes and casual edits, but it is not tamper-proof. Treat the scores as friendly bragging rights.
## Beta status
Tested in a small guild on TBC Anniversary and in a simulated guild. Not yet tested on WoW Forever, in a big guild, or with several officers online at once. Please report problems in the comments, including your client and what you typed.
