Description
So, you want to roleplay in WoW Forever? Or are you already a seasoned roleplayer?
Trailnotes Campfire Tales is here to help both newcomers and veterans. Get suggestions for what to say and do in everyday situations, fitted to your race, class and background, and save your favourites for later. Or write your own tales, step by step and with emotes, so they're ready to tell whenever the moment calls for it.
You never have to come up with the perfect line on the spot. Just pick one, tweak it if you like, and press Send.
From the makers of Trailnotes: Immersion that speaks for you.
Campfire Tales gives your character a voice. Pick a moment and click Suggest. You get a line that fits who you are: a gruff dwarf warrior, a nervous gnome mage who used to be a sailor, or a Tauren kodo herder far from the plains. Send it to Party, Say or Whisper, with a matching emote if you like.
Write your own tales
- Make your own situations, name them, and fill them with your own lines.
- Write a tale step by step, each line with its own emote (or a custom /me).
- Reorder lines, edit them, or save variations as new lines.
- Use "Tell in order" to tell the story one line per Send, from the main window or the mini bar.

Lines that fit your character
- Races: Horde (Orc, Troll, Tauren, Undead), Alliance (Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome) and the Skyborne on WoW Forever, with their own High Order (Alliance) and Windshaper (Horde) lines. Want Blood Elf or Draenei lines? Tell me in the comments!
- Classes: all nine, each with its own habits. The paladin wants to purge the darkness; the rogue checks every chest.
- Backgrounds: 19 life stories, from Tavern keeper and Shipwreck survivor to Gravedigger, Pilgrim, Miner and Former criminal.
- Suggest builds each line from your race, class and background, and never gives you the same line twice in a row.
- Voice strength (Subtle, Normal or Strong) sets how much of your race's accent and turns of phrase colours suggested lines.
Which class/race/background are you playing, and what's your best line? Share it in the comments. The best ones may end up in a future version!
Missing your character's background? Suggest one in the comments, with a name and a short description. Favourites may make it into the next release!
Your own lines
- Save any line as your own, for this character only or for all of them. Mark favourites; they come up twice as often.
- Place tags fill themselves in.
{City}becomes the capital you are in ("Ah, Ironforge."), and<dungeon>becomes the dungeon ("Let's cleanse Shadowfang Keep of this filth."). Outside one, you get "this city" or "this place".
Mini bar
A small bar that lists every situation. Like the main window, it shows a count of your own lines for each one. Click a situation to preview a line, then send it, or send in one click. Shift-click opens the full window. You can lock it and set how see-through it is.
Standalone or with Trailnotes
Campfire Tales works on its own. Type /campfire to open it. With Trailnotes installed it joins the Trailnotes menu, and Trailnotes backgrounds give it even more lines.
Game versions
WoW Classic Era (including Season of Discovery) and WoW Forever, with the Skyborne. TBC Anniversary (2.5.x): supported, pending in-game testing. Draenei and Blood Elves use class and background lines for now.
