This Total RP 3 module adds several customizations to KuiNameplates (both Total RP 3 and KuiNameplates add-ons are of course required):
- See the full RP name of a character on their nameplate, instead of their default name, colored like in their tooltip.
- Hide the names of players without an RP profile! (Off by default, can be enabled in the settings)
- See customized pets names (only for pets with a nameplate, if enabled, like hunters or warlocks).
- See their custom title if they have one. (Off by default, can be enabled in the settings. Enabling this option will replace the guild text by the player custom title.)
- New in version 1.4.0: Automatic fetching of profiles when a nameplate comes into view. You no longer need to have your cursor over someone to get their profile, profiles from people around you are automatically downloaded.
You can fine tune the settings of this module in the settings of Total RP 3 to have it only customize the nameplates when you are "In Character" or disable individual customizations.
Wait, nope. My husband can see my title but I can't see his and we have every single option the same. How do I fix it? Thanks!
Edit: Found the fix in the comments. Sorry :)
im having an issue with titles. when i try to click 'show player titles', it gives me an error saying that because of other modules, i can't show player titles. is this fixable?
In reply to strvdel:
We are currently planning a more generic replacement to this module in the near future, so we are not planning on updating it until then.
Hiya,
I've been trying to figure it out for ages, but I can't work out why I'm only getting vanilla titles on players nameplates.
I have TRP3, TRP3 KuiNameplates module and KuiNameplates and they're all up to date.
I have nameplates turned on for all (npcs, friendly players and enemy players).
I have ElvUI, but even when I turn the nameplate section of it off (so that only KuiNameplates is modifying my nameplates) the issue persists.
Below are my TRP3 settings for KuiNameplates:
The module is definitely loaded:
Here are the settings from Interface > Kui Naeplates Cor > CVars, which mention titles a lot:
And the final mention of titles I can find in any of these settings:
Sorry for the image spam. I just thought it'd be easier than explaining it all via text.
If by chance you don't know how to fix this but you do know how to customise titles in ElvUI, could you tell me how to set ElvUI nameplate titles to display TRP titles?
In reply to Forge_User_40156609:
You have the "Only in character" setting checked, are you sure you're not OOC in TRP ?
If you'd rather customize ElvUI nameplates than using Kui Nameplates, you can always look at [rp:tags]: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/rp-tags
In reply to SolanyaStormbreaker:
Good eye! RP names are appearing in full with [OOC] tags and the like while I'm OOC, but unfortunately that hasn't fixed the titles. They still don't display whether I'm IC or OOC in TRP.
In reply to Forge_User_40156609:
Hi. The custom titles are using the guild text line from KuiNameplates, shown bellow player names, and requires the “Show player guilds” option in KuiNameplates to be enabled. I guess the wording of the option’s helper tooltip could be improved to explain that clearly, sorry.
In reply to EllypseCelwe:
Yes! That did it!
Thank you <3
will there be support for classic? just curious - thank you!
In reply to dactylicHEXameters:
We won't port this module to Classic because we are currently working on integrating its features into the main addon with support for Blizzard and more addon nameplates. That work should apply to both retail and Classic versions, but we'll have more information to give once we're close to releasing it.
Hey, I really like this addon. Thanks for making it!
Not working at all for me. Gone through variables and made sure every thing is up to date but nothing is working.

Would need more details to be able to help :
- Do you have Total RP 3 and KuiNameplates installed and enabled in addition to this module ?
- In Interface Options > Names, under Unit Nameplates, do you have both "Friendly Players" and "Always Show Nameplates" checked ?
- What is not working ? Are you not seeing names above players, or do you see names but not customised ?
In reply to SolanyaStormbreaker:
Yeah, I'm sorry I'm apparently too braindead to actually give you details -.-;
So, yes I have TRP3 & KuiNameplates on, installed, and enabled as well as this mod.
I've gone into interface options-> Names and made sure friendly and always show are checked
I don't see any change, the nameplates are just peoples' normal names, titles and guilds. It looks no different from before I installed the moduel.
I've gone through and tried flipping different checkmarks on and off in both Kui and through TRP, I've reloaded and relogged, but nothing seems to be working.
In reply to DeaconCash:
If you go to TRP settings, in the Modules status section, can you find the KuiNameplates module listed and what is its status ? If it's not Loaded, mouseover the orange i button next to the title to see if it mentions an error.
(Also check if you can see a KuiNameplates section in the settings but if it had a loading issue, it might not appear)
In reply to SolanyaStormbreaker:
They're loaded, no errors, and checking in bugsack for any potential errors and none there either. Everythings showing good (I have ELV with error on startup but I didn't update it yet, I have it disabled atm so none of it starts up)
In reply to DeaconCash:
ElvUI with error is normal if you don't have it enabled, it's a compatibility module so it won't start without ElvUI.
Can you share screenshots of the settings you currently have in TRP settings > KuiNameplates as well as what you're currently seeing above players' heads ? If the module is loaded there must be something wrong in the settings.
In reply to SolanyaStormbreaker:
I don't actually know how to make it put the damn picture here I tried D: I'm sorry!
In reply to DeaconCash:
You don't have friendly nameplates enabled. You need to make sure to check Friendly Players under Unit Nameplates, not just the one at the top of the section.
In reply to SolanyaStormbreaker:
:D I'm an extra special potato!
Thank you, it's working now. I appreciate all the help!!!
