What's new
The Great Expedition — Changelog
1.0.28 – 1.1.3
Three challenge modes
- At a character's first login you now choose a mode in a pop-up (before the Oath). The choice is explained in full, is permanent, and locks itself with a UI reload — it can't be changed afterwards anywhere.
- True Challenge — only The Great Expedition may run. Any other non-Blizzard addon is automatically turned off and the UI reloaded.
- Hard — quality-of-life addons are allowed, but the ones that play the game for you are automatically disabled: questing guides (Questie, RestedXP, Guidelime, Zygor…), gathering/node maps (GatherMate…), automation (WeakAuras, TradeSkillMaster, DBM, BigWigs, GTFO, rotation helpers…), and damage/threat meters (Details, Recount, Skada, Omen…). The full banned list is in the Codex and the description.
- Easy — all addons allowed, but you are treated as an outsider (no kin trade/group/mail) until level 60.
- Each member's mode is shown in the guild status roster.
Economy — now tamper-proof and GM-run
- The Guild Master is the ledger-keeper: he closes the lots (the Reckoning) and sorts the Tributes. Stewards only hold and deliver goods.
- Your Tribute balance is recomputed from source — verified achievement points plus sales won minus payments made — so a doctored SavedVariables number does nothing and self-corrects on the next sync/reload.
- Achievement points are verified against the guild-synced achievement record (not your client's self-report) before any Tributes are minted; over-claims are flagged to the GM.
- The GM can reconcile the whole Vault (every Tribute must equal points minted minus the sale tithe) from the ledger window.
- Bank stewards are appointed by name now (verified in the guild and not failed), with a list and GM remove buttons — no more targeting.
Survival (Wayfarer)
- Low Vigor now bites: at 0 Vigor your Satiety and Hydration drain 20% faster (10% below half Vigor).
- High Resolve steadies you: above 50/75/90% it slows Vigor loss and Strain gain by 10/20/30%.
- True mode only: letting Satiety or Hydration sit at zero for over 5 minutes forfeits the run.
- These effects are now shown in the bar tooltips.
Fixes & polish
- Failing no longer auto-removes you from the guild — the run is void and the guild is notified, but leaving is your choice.
- Nature damage in combat text is now teal, not green (green is reserved for healing).
- Calendar now uses Server time (converted and labelled), and days with several events show a clean "N events" count instead of overlapping text — click the day for the full list, sign-up and create window. Removed a stray overlapping time label.
- Guild-owner (
Gotge…) characters, solo play, and the fail consequences are documented in the Codex and description. - Now marked compatible with game versions 1.15.8 and 1.15.9.
Note: this update re-shows the Oath once (the rules text changed), and every existing character is asked to choose its mode on next login.
