# TargetAny

Smart targeting for quest mobs - an auto-updating macro, real raid icons on the right mobs, and a click-to-target box. Works great with Questie, and still works well without it.

## What it does

Pick a quest - right-click it in Questie's tracker, or just click it in your own quest log - and TargetAny sets up everything you need to find and target the mobs that quest actually needs.

- **Auto-updating macro** - a real, editable `TargetAny` macro that always targets the best available mob for your focused quest. Drag it to an action bar once; TargetAny keeps its contents current.
- **Real raid-target icons** - each distinct mob type in your focused quest gets its own stable raid icon, placed directly on matching nameplates.
- **Active Targets box** - a small, movable, always-on-screen box with one click-to-target button per mob type. Clicking cycles between duplicates automatically.
- **Smart Target hotkey** - a bindable key that targets the nearest quest-relevant mob across every active kill quest, no quest needs to be selected first. A second bind cycles between candidates.
- **Manual targeting** - right-click any unit and choose "Select Target(Any)", or type `/targetany "Mob Name"`, to hunt a specific mob by name, no quest data required.
- **Quick Raid Mark panel** - a separate, movable panel with all 8 raid icons. Left-click to mark your current target, right-click to clear. Toggle with `/targetany mark`.

## Works with or without Questie

**With Questie installed:**
- Covers both kill objectives and item-drop objectives.
- Once your focused quest is complete, the macro/icons/box automatically switch to pointing at the quest turn-in NPC.
- Adds a "Select Target(Any)" entry directly to Questie's tracker right-click menu.

**Without Questie:**
- Runs entirely on the game's own quest log - no other addon required.
- Covers kill objectives (item-drop and turn-in-NPC targeting need a community quest database, so those stay Questie-only).
- Focus a quest just by clicking it in your normal quest tracker.

TargetAny automatically detects whether Questie is installed and enabled, and switches modes on its own - nothing to configure.

## Slash commands

| `/targetany cycle` | Cycle to the next quest-relevant mob |
| `/targetany focus [id]` | (No Questie) list active quests, or focus one by ID |
| `/targetany unfocus` | Clear the current focus |
| `/targetany mark` | Show/hide the Quick Raid Mark panel |
| `/targetany "Mob Name"` | Manually target a specific mob by name |
| `/targetany macro` | Force-rebuild the targeting macro |
| `/targetany dump` | Print current quest/candidate data (troubleshooting) |

Bindable keys are also available under **Key Bindings > TargetAny** for the Smart Target and Cycle Target hotkeys.
