Description
StatMaxxin
You already know the numbers you are chasing. StatMaxxin puts them next to what you actually have, everywhere the game shows you a stat.
Type in the rating you want for each stat, and StatMaxxin does two things: it writes the difference straight onto your character pane, and it tells you, on every item tooltip, whether equipping that piece gets you closer to those numbers or breaks a goal you were already hitting.
On your character pane
Every stat line gets a live delta appended to it — green when you are over your target, red when you are under.
Critical Strike: 19% -299
Haste: 24% -402
Mastery: 48% +140
Versatility: 10% +440
No extra window to check, no maths in your head. Open your character sheet and the gap is right there.
On item tooltips
Hover any piece of gear and StatMaxxin compares it against what you are wearing, then scores the swap against your goals:
StatMaxxin vs Baleful Grave-Knight's Deathgrips
Strength +17 2229/2212
Stamina +431 64444/64013
Critical Strike +10 629/928 (299 short)
Haste +87 860/1262 (402 short)
Mastery -87 737/597
Toward goals: +97 closer
- Per-stat delta — what you gain or lose, and where that lands you against the target.
- Shortfall — how much rating you would still be missing after the swap.
- Break alert — a red (!) drops N short fires only when the swap itself takes you below a goal you were already meeting. Gaps you already had stay quiet.
- Verdict line — a single number for the whole swap. Overshooting a met goal counts for nothing, so a huge stat you do not need will not masquerade as an upgrade.
- Stats with no goal are still listed in grey, so you always see what you are giving up.
- Rings, trinkets and one-handers are compared against whichever of the two equipped items the swap helps most.
Stats are read from the item link itself, so gems, enchants and upgrade levels are all included — no tooltip text parsing, works in every game language.
Templates, per spec
Every character and specialisation owns its own set of named templates, with exactly one active at a time. Keep a Mythic+ set and a raid set, swap between them in two clicks, and respeccing swaps the whole set with you. Create, rename and delete from the picker at the top of the window.
Copy goals from another player
Target someone, hit Copy from target, and their gear ratings become a new template named after them. Uses the normal inspect system — no external data, no site lookups, always current-patch.
Share your goals in chat
Hit Share in chat to post your goals to party, raid, guild, say or whisper. Everyone else running StatMaxxin sees a clickable [Copy stats from <name>] link; one click, one confirm, and it is saved as a template on their side. Anyone without the addon just sees a short readable line of numbers.
Undo
One click undoes the last bulk change — Fill current, Clear, Copy from target, an import, or a template create/rename/delete. Click it again to redo. Fat-fingering Clear no longer costs you your numbers.
Extras
- /smx opens your character pane and docks the window to the right of it. Drag it once and it stays where you put it.
- Optional toggle to hide Blizzard's "Equipped" comparison panel, since StatMaxxin already shows you the swap.
- Midnight secret-stat aware — where the game hides your stats, StatMaxxin hides its numbers rather than throwing errors at you.
Slash commands
/smxor/statmaxx— open the goals window (and your character pane)/smx copy— copy goals from your current target/smx share— share to raid, party, or say/smx share guild— share to a specific channel
Good to know
- Targets are entered and compared as ratings, not percentages — the way people actually talk about stat goals.
- Deltas are raw rating and do not account for diminishing returns. If you want the DR picture too, run it alongside an addon like True Stat Values.
- Primary stat deltas on tooltips come from the item itself, so they do not include your percentage stat buffs. Secondary and tertiary ratings are exact.
- Copy from target transfers ratings only. Primary stats are skipped on purpose: gear carries only part of them, so a copied Strength target would import as already met.
