SpellSmasher is a free, independent simple one-button macro sequencer addon and one-button macro addon for World of Warcraft Retail (Midnight).

You own a fixed list of spells. One mash key runs that list only — not Blizzard’s adaptive Single-Button Assist. Build packs in-game or on your phone at spellsmasher.com, mark Active, bind a key, and mash.

Under the hood it is a compile + secure runner: out of combat it bakes your list into a one-cast-per-click button; in combat it only presses what you put on the list.

The idea in one sentence

Spell list + talent package that fits that list + one key that plays it honestly.

What it does (player view)

  1. Make or import a pack — Method starter, SpellSmasher Engine starter, or a site export
  2. Set Active on the List tab (* ACTIVE)
  3. Bind the mash key (1–0 bar or Key Bindings)
  4. Match talents to the listBest fills the guide talent package for that sequence; Apply pushes it into the game when Blizzard allows
  5. Mash — one combat cast per press; the list always advances

Optional: edit modes, reorder spells, helpers, export backups.

Inside the product (how it actually works)

1) Starter packs that match class, spec, and hero path

  • New pack asks for class, spec, and hero talent path (both Midnight paths per spec).
  • Method — guide-style spell order with modes already set (Once / In order / Priority).
  • SpellSmasher Engine — CD-aware mash order tuned for one-button play, still paired with the same Method talent package.
  • Packs are built from dedicated multi-target / M+ style step lists when available (one list per pack — not dual ST+AoE keys).
  • Lists are loadout-honest: spells that belong with that guide package, not random filler.

2) Best talents for your sequence

This is the talent side of “make the list and the tree agree.”

  • Best looks at the spells on the current pack (class / spec / hero).
  • It attaches the curated Method talent loadout string (CUk) that pairs with that guide for your class, spec, and hero path.
  • It also checks which recommended talent names line up with spells already on your list so you can see the match.
  • New Method/Engine packs and rebuilds auto-attach that talent string when one exists — so a fresh pack is not “spells only, figure talents out yourself.”
  • Import from the site soft-fills Method talents if the pack has spells but no loadout yet.

Honest limit: Best is a curated package matched to the list, not a full sim that invents a brand-new tree every patch. You stay in control; the addon gives you the package that belongs with that sequence.

3) Apply talents into the game

  • Apply first fills Best/Method talents if the pack is missing a string, then tries Blizzard ImportLoadout with a named loadout (e.g. SSM My Pack).
  • If the client blocks auto-import, you get a Ctrl+C popup and paste into Talents → Import (same string).
  • Method restores the guide CUk if you overwrote it.
  • From me snapshots your live tree onto the pack (custom), without changing what mash casts.
  • Copy always works for manual import.
  • Mash never changes talents by itself — only when you choose Best / Method / From me / Apply / Copy.

4) Priority triangle (why top spells hit more often)

  • Priority mode does not dump a multi-spell macro every click.
  • Out of combat, the compile step expands Priority into a triangle (top of the block appears more often; bottom less).
  • Editor shows % of Priority clicks so the weight is honest.
  • Rev Pri uses the reverse triangle rhythm when you want it.
  • One combat cast per mash keeps macros under the 255-character safe limit (helpers only if they still fit).

5) Once = once per combat

  • Spells tagged Once fire on the first pass of the fight, then are skipped until you leave combat.
  • Perfect for openers (brand, mark, burst setup) without repeating them every loop.
  • In order still runs as a recipe every pass for the sequential block.

6) Secure mash runtime

  • Built on a SecureActionButton so combat casting stays within Blizzard rules.
  • Always advances after a step so mashing never stalls on a dead click.
  • Combat casts use [nochanneling] so long channels are not clipped by spam.
  • Only list spells are combat casts — no secret code-injected cooldowns.

7) Easy helpers (default Off)

  • AA auto-attack, RT re-target, DEF defensive line — only when you turn them on and they fit.
  • Shift modes: ignore / aoe / pause.
  • Helpers never invent off-list damage spells.

8) Website ↔ game packs

  • Wire format: !SpellSmasher!1!<…> (same as the site).
  • Build on phone or desktop → Export → Import in /ssm.
  • Export from the game for backup or to edit on the site.
  • Import appends packs; it does not wipe your account list.

9) Step-by-step tour

  • Help or /ssm help walks every major surface (List, New, Import, Edit, modes, tools, helpers, talents, bind).
  • Tour docks beside the UI and switches tabs as you go.
  • Skip / Off / Finish stops auto-show; Help restarts anytime.

Commands

Command Action
/ssm Open UI
/ssm help Step-by-step tour
/ssm recompile Rebuild secure mash list
/ssm reset Reset step to 1

What it does not do

  • Does not run Blizzard’s adaptive assist
  • Does not cast spells that are not on your list
  • Does not inject hidden combat spells from code
  • Does not auto-change talents when you mash
  • Does not run a full personal sim of every talent node (Best = curated package matched to the list)
  • Retail only for this build (12.0.7 / Interface 120007)
  • Macro Sequencer Complete now enjoy mashing that button
