SothPet

SothPet is a cozy virtual-pet addon for World of Warcraft Retail. Adopt magical companions, care for their needs, help them grow, collect multiple pets, play mini-games, earn supplies, unlock titles, and build your own Stable of fantasy creatures.

Inspired by classic virtual-pet games, SothPet adds a relaxing side activity that fits naturally alongside your adventures in Azeroth.

Adopt Fantasy Pets

Choose from twelve custom companions, each with unique portrait artwork and personality flavor:

Give your new companion a custom name and begin raising it.

Pet Care

Each active pet has needs that change over time:

• Fullness

• Happiness

• Cleanliness

• Energy

• Health

Use pet-care actions to keep your companion healthy:

• Feed

• Play

• Clean

• Nap

• Medicine

Neglecting important needs can eventually reduce your pet’s health, so regular care matters.

Multiple Pets and the Stable

You are no longer limited to one companion.

The Stable allows you to collect and switch between multiple pets. When you activate another companion, your previous pet is placed safely into storage.

Stored pets retain their individual information, including:

• custom name

• species

• current needs and health

• level and XP

• rarity

• titles

• survival history

• care statistics

• Word Puzzle progress

• Target Practice statistics

Pets do not decay while stored. When brought back out, they continue from where they left off.

The Stable uses portrait cards showing each pet’s artwork, name, species, level, and current status.

Unwanted pets can also be archived and removed from the collection.

Pet Progression

Pets earn XP through SothPet activities and can level up over time.

As a pet grows, its rarity improves:

• Common

• Uncommon

• Rare

• Epic

• Legendary

Rarity is displayed beside the pet’s species and reflected through rarity-colored presentation.

Supplies

Pet-care actions require supplies such as:

• Pet Snacks

• Tiny Toys

• Cleaning Cloths

• Cozy Blankets

• Pet Medicine

Supplies are shared across your pet collection and can be earned through Loot Crates, mini-games, and occasional adventure finds.

Supply storage is capped at 999 of each item.

Loot Crates

Open a daily Loot Crate for a chance to receive:

• pet-care supplies

• bonus XP

• rare rewards

• title scrolls

Successful mini-game performances can also award additional Loot Crate rolls.

Word Puzzle

Play a repeatable five-letter guessing game inspired by classic word puzzles.

Features include:

• six attempts per puzzle

• colored tile feedback

• alphabet tracking

• removed absent letters

• custom polished puzzle interface

• XP rewards

• bonus Loot Crate rolls

The Word Puzzle can be played whenever you want.

Target Practice

Target Practice is a fast twenty-second reflex mini-game.

Two or three targets appear at the same time, but only one is correct. Click good targets to earn points and avoid cursed decoys that reduce your score.

Possible targets include:

• Paw — 1 point

• Treat — 1 point

• Arcane Orb — 2 points

• Golden Paw — 5 points

• Cursed Skull — score penalty

Higher scores reward more pet XP and additional Loot Crate rolls.

Target Practice uses custom artwork and does not interact with real WoW combat, targeting, spellcasting, or protected actions.

Titles

Unlock cosmetic titles for your pets by completing achievements and reaching milestones.

Titles can come from:

• pet survival

• leveling

• Word Puzzle achievements

• Target Practice achievements

• Loot Crate milestones

• hidden accomplishments

• rare title scrolls

Titles are selected using the dropdown beneath the active pet’s name.

Boarding

Need to take a break?

Boarding pauses your active pet’s needs, requests, and survival timer. Your pet remains safe until you manually unboard it.

Pet Requests

Your active pet may occasionally ask for attention or care.

Responding to requests can improve your record and help keep the pet happy. Missing a request may result in a small penalty.

Stored and boarded pets do not generate active requests.

Adventure Supply Finds

While you play World of Warcraft, SothPet can occasionally detect adventure activity and award pet-care supplies.

This system uses WoW Statistics API polling rather than combat-log events.

SothPet does not use COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED.

Message Controls

SothPet’s cute chat messages can be reduced or disabled entirely.

Use the Messages: On / Off button on the main window to control normal addon messages. Supply finds and game systems continue working even when messages are muted.

Adoption and Collection Controls

The adoption screen includes:

• a close button

• a Cancel / Back button

• dynamic support for the expanded pet roster

Players can open the adoption screen, browse available pets, and leave without adopting one.
