SimplePlates
Finally separate: control enemy player and NPC nameplates individually.
Since the nameplate update from 08 July 2026, TBC Classic Anniversary lets you customize a lot about nameplates – but Blizzard's own menu still only offers a single combined toggle for "all enemy units". SimplePlates fills exactly that gap, without any extra bloat: no color themes, no health text, no cast bars – just the one feature that was missing.
Features
- 🎯 Toggle enemy players and enemy NPCs independently
- 🐾 Pets, totems, and guardians of enemy players are automatically grouped with the player toggle
- ⚔️ Safety exception: an enemy player who is actually attackable (PvP-flagged on a PvE realm, or an opponent in a battleground/arena) is always shown, regardless of the toggle, so you never miss a real threat
- 💾 Settings are saved permanently
- 🪶 Minimalist: a single Lua file, no dependencies, no performance overhead
Commands
/sp players - toggle enemy player nameplates (incl. pets/totems)
/sp npcs - toggle enemy NPC nameplates
/sp status - show current status
(Alternatively: /simpleplates or /ent)
Who is this for?
For anyone who generally likes Blizzard's new nameplate system but misses exactly this one missing distinction – without having to install a full nameplate replacement addon like Plater or TidyPlates just for that.
Compatibility
TBC Classic Anniversary, Interface 2.5.6 (build 68575) and later.
