Satellite – Button Collector
Satellite gathers your addons' minimap buttons into one launcher, so your minimap stays clear. Click the launcher and a menu slides out with all your addon buttons in one place. For Retail and WoW Forever.
What it does
- One launcher for all your addons: Satellite finds the minimap buttons of your addons and puts them in its menu. The buttons work just like before: hover for the tooltip, click as you always did.
- A clear minimap: the addons' own minimap buttons are hidden while they're in the menu. You can keep them if you like.
- Hand-made buttons too: buttons that addons make themselves, without the usual library, move into the menu as well, and work there just as on the minimap.
- Addons without a minimap button too: addons that are only in the addon compartment, or only show in broker displays, can join the menu.
- Blizzard's expansion button (order hall, covenant sanctum, Omnium Folio…) can go in the menu too.
- Favourites at hand: star up to four buttons and they show right beside the launcher, out of the menu, like satellites around it: on the minimap's ring above and below the button, in an orbit around the circle or square, or along the side bar. Show them all the time or only when you hover the launcher.
- Choose your launcher:
- a round button on the minimap's ring (drag it around the ring)
- the minimap's compass arrow, in place of the west arrow or beside it
- a circle or square you can put anywhere, or dock against an edge of the screen
- a side bar on any edge of the screen
- no launcher at all, with the menu always open
- Make it yours: launcher size (each style keeps its own), border colour (gold, silver, bronze or your class colour), and the launcher's symbol: Satellite's logo, whose buttons orbit while you hover it, or your class, spec or hero talent image (in full colour, grey, or tinted gold, silver or bronze; it glows or turns a little while you hover it).
- Your menu, your way: hide the buttons you don't need, star your favourites, rename them, drag them into the order you like, and choose how many go in each column. Show icons, icons with names, or just the names. Buttons can look like minimap buttons, circles, squares or diamonds.
- See what's new: when an addon changes its icon to show something (BugSack's bug turns red), a small dot appears on the launcher until you open the menu, and the button that changed shows it too. Icons that only follow the zone (BigWigs lighting up in an instance) don't count, boss mods (BigWigs, DBM) start with the dot off, and you can turn it off or on for any button.
- Opens how you like: on click or on mouseover, and closes when you click elsewhere or when the mouse leaves, and after you click a button.
- Works with your minimap: square minimaps (ElvUI, BasicMinimap…) and a minimap at the screen's edge are fine. The launchers you can put anywhere stay behind your bags and action bars; their menu opens over them.
How to use it
Click the launcher on your minimap's ring to open the menu. Click it again to close it.
Right-click the launcher for the settings. They open beside the menu, and the menu stays open, so you see every change at once. With the menu always open, right-click its background. More settings are in Blizzard's Options, on the AddOns tab. Use the same settings on all your characters, or give one character its own.
To move the launcher, drag it. When it's locked, Shift-drag still moves it.
Commands
/satellite: open the settings/satellite list: list the buttons Satellite found/satellite reset: put the launcher back in its place
