Retail Nameplates

Retail nameplate behavior on WoW Forever's own nameplates: only the plates that matter, and every part editable.

Retail Nameplates

Retail's nameplate behavior, on WoW Forever's own nameplates, with every part editable.

Most nameplate addons replace the game's plates with their own. Retail Nameplates keeps the Forever look you know, makes it behave like retail, and lets you change every part of it.

Retail behavior

A plate only shows for:

  • your target, focus or soft target
  • quest mobs you still need
  • enemies fighting you, your pet or your group
  • enemy players (optional)

Everything else shows just its name, using the game's own font and colors. You can hide the names of neutral (yellow) mobs.

Forever's look, kept

These are Blizzard's own Forever nameplates, with the same bars, icons and fonts. Everything starts at the game's own look, and you change only what you want. Turn the addon off and your plates look exactly as before.

Plate editor

  • Move and resize every part: name, health text, level, raid marker, elite icon, buffs, debuffs, crowd control and cast bar.
  • Plate size: set the plate width, health bar height and font sizes.
  • Cast bar: set the bar's width and height and the spell icon's size, and put the spell name inside the bar.
  • Live preview: sample markers, auras and casts appear on the plates around you while the editor is open, so you see the layout as you build it.

Style

  • Textures: for the health and cast bars, including textures from your other addons (shared media).
  • Borders: a flat background, a thin line or no border around the bars and the level number. The target highlight can become a thin line in your own colors.
  • Font: font and outline for every text on the plate.
  • Colors: your own health bar colors, with class colors for players, and cast bar colors, including casts that can't be interrupted.

Extra: quest item tracking

A custom element next to quest mobs shows the item you need from them and your progress (3/8). Kill objectives get a skull icon.

Game settings and profiles

  • Game settings: the game's own nameplate settings, all in the addon, plus a combat text height slider so damage numbers start above the plate instead of behind it.
  • Profiles: save different setups and switch between them, per character.
  • Clean when off: disable or remove the addon and your nameplates go back to your own game settings.

Works with Plater and EllesmereUI

Tested with Plater and EllesmereUI Nameplates. Keep the one you like, and Retail Nameplates makes it behave like retail too. In Plater it installs as a plugin, with its own page in Plater's Plugins tab.
