CC Alert

CC Alert is a lightweight PvP addon for World of Warcraft: Midnight that displays a large, highly visible warning whenever an enemy begins casting crowd control.

It is designed to help you react faster without flooding your screen with normal damage or healing spells.

Detection Modes

Healer Mode — Crowd Control Cast on You

Only displays an alert when an enemy crowd-control spell is being cast directly on your character.

Useful for reacting to spells such as:

• Polymorph
• Fear
• Cyclone
• Hex
• Mind Control
• Repentance
• Sleep Walk

DPS Mode — All Enemy Crowd Control

Displays every enemy crowd-control cast, regardless of its target.

This mode is useful for DPS players who want to interrupt crowd control being cast on their healer or another teammate.

Customization

Open the settings panel through:

Escape → Options → AddOns → CC Alert

You can customize:

• Detection mode
• Alert size
• Screen position
• Display opacity
• Icon zoom
• Glow intensity
• Ring and visual theme
• Alert title
• Cast-bar duration and direction
• Pulse animation
• Sound
• Visibility of individual interface elements

You can also open the settings directly with:

Useful Commands

/cca test

Displays a test alert.

/cca unlock

Unlocks the alert so it can be moved with the left mouse button.

/cca lock

Locks the alert in place.

/cca mode player

Enables Healer Mode.

/cca mode all

Enables DPS Mode.

/cca reset

Restores the default settings.

Midnight Compatibility

Midnight restricts access to some combat information during protected PvP content.

CC Alert uses Blizzard’s native protected crowd-control classification and visual filtering system. The addon does not attempt to read or bypass protected combat data.

Because of these restrictions, the exact behavior of some spells depends on Blizzard’s own crowd-control classification.

Limitations

• Instant crowd-control abilities cannot be warned before they are applied.
• The addon only detects casts visible through supported enemy units.
• Conditional sounds may be unavailable when the result of the detection is protected by Midnight.
• DPS Mode warns about all detected enemy crowd-control casts, including casts targeting other players.

Installation

1. Download and extract the archive.
2. Place the CCAlert folder inside:

World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns\

1. Restart the game or type:

/reload

1. Use /cca test to verify the display.
