PriceWhisperer (Classic)
PriceWhisperer is a lightweight utility for WoW Classic that automatically shares item price data with your guildmates via whispers. No more manual price checks for your friends; PriceWhisperer handles the requests for you instantly.
⚠️ Requirements (Dependencies)
To provide price data, PriceWhisperer acts as a bridge for your existing auction databases. You must have one of the following addons installed:
Auctionator (Recommended for the most accurate "Time Since Scan" logic)
Auctioneer (Auc-Advanced)
Note: Ensure you perform regular scans of the Auction House to provide your guild with the most up-to-date market values.
How It Works
When a guild member types an item link in Guild Chat preceded by a question mark (?), PriceWhisperer triggers an automatic response.
Example: ?[Major Healing Potion]
Result: The requester receives a private whisper with the current gold value from your local database.
Key Features
Smart "Race Condition" Logic: To prevent whisper spam, the addon calculates a response delay based on your data's age. The player with the most recent scan (today vs. yesterday) will respond first. This signals other instances of the addon to remain silent.
Scan Transparency: The whisper includes how old the data is (e.g., "scanned today" or "2 days old"), so your guildmates know how reliable the price is.
Ultra Lightweight: Built with performance in mind. It uses minimal memory and only activates when a query is detected in chat.
Multi-Addon Support: Seamlessly pulls data from Auctionator or Auctioneer.
Installation & Setup
Install PriceWhisperer.
Ensure a supported price database addon (like Auctionator) is active.
Perform a "Full Scan" at the Auction House.
