PetScout 🐾 — the all-in-one companion for pet collectors

Every pet you are missing, where it spawns, whether the one in front of you is worth catching, which of your pets to send against any tamer, and now: when the sandstorm you have been waiting for is actually happening. In one addon, with zero setup.

Other addons show you where pets are, or manage your teams. PetScout is built around a single question: what should I do right now to grow my collection? It answers it on the map, on your screen, in the middle of a battle, and across your whole realm.

• Nothing to configure, nothing to learn first. Install it, open the map: 35,000 spawn points for 659 wild species are already there, plus vendors, drops, quest givers and dungeon entrances for 630 more species. No need to visit a zone before it shows anything.
• It tells you, before you click Trap, if the pet is worth it. New species, better quality, higher level than yours, already owned, or already sitting in your bags: you see it on the enemy portraits, in a capture panel, and you hear it.
• It knows when the weather is right. The Silithid Hatchling only exists during a sandstorm, the Baby Ape in the rain, the Arctic Fox Kit in the snow, and the game gives addons no way to read the weather. PetScout solves it with its players: the moment any PetScout user of your realm, guild or group spots one of these pets, everyone gets an alert window, a sound, and the pet is flagged as capturable for the next 20 minutes. Night, season, Darkmoon Faire and elemental storm conditions are computed live, so every condition in the codex tells you whether it is active right now.
• It picks your team against tamers. For 55 tamers with known teams, PetScout looks at your collection and suggests three pets, in the enemy's order, with the reasons: strong abilities, resisted attacks, level and quality. No spreadsheet, no wiki tab.
• It reads the enemy for you. Enemy abilities with cooldowns, the one just used, strong/weak badges against your active pet, breed, and who strikes first.
• It stays out of your way. A quest-objectives style tracker of what you are missing here, that hides itself in battle and gives its place to the battle helpers.

✨ Everything inside

Zone codex (/petscout or /ps) Every pet of a zone with the quality you own, filters (missing, upgradable, owned, family, "strong against"), search, sort and progress. Click a pet for its 3D model, stats, abilities, zones with their wild pet level, and where to find it. Right click: show on the map, Blizzard or TomTom waypoint, summon.

Map Clustered pins that scale with the zoom, on zone and continent maps. Missing-pet counters on every zone of a continent. A filter bar on the world map: all, missing, upgradable, owned, family, strong against. Vendors, drops and quest givers shown at the NPC with its name.

Spawn conditions, with their live status Wherever a pet is listed, its requirement (weather, time of day, season, Darkmoon Faire, elemental storm) appears in orange with its current state: active now, not right now, seen 8 min ago, reported by Name 3 min ago. Time windows, seasons, the faire calendar and the Dragon Isles storms are computed by the addon. Weather is confirmed by sightings and shared automatically between PetScout users of the realm, so a sandstorm spotted by one player lights up the Silithid Hatchling for everyone.

Weather alert window A dedicated, movable alert (like a rare-spawn alert) with the pet, the weather, the zone, who saw it, what you already own, and a button to open the map. Plus a chat line and a sound. Both the alert and the sharing can be switched off.

On-screen tracker What you are missing where you are, with the zone's wild pet level. Pets waiting as items in your bags are marked, and one click learns them.

Battle helpers

• Wild battle start: each enemy classified as new species, better quality, higher level than yours, or already owned, with what you own (quality, level, breed). Capture panel, chat lines, sound, marks on the enemy portraits.
• Enemy ability bar: cooldowns, the ability just used, strong/weak badges against your active pet, what each attack family hits hard or weakly, breed and speed of the enemy.

Tamers The tamers of every zone with their status (defeated or not), their full team with levels and abilities, filters by team level, search by tamer, zone, pet or family, one click to a waypoint, and the suggested trio from your own pets with adjustable level gap and minimum quality.

And more Achievements tab with progress, a short pet battle handbook, tooltips everywhere (rarity impact, abilities, strengths and weaknesses, breed of your pets), 3D preview on hover, unique pet counter, minimap button, key binding, addon compartment.

📊 The data, in numbers

The data ships inside the addon and is checked every week against the game client database; new species are listed for the next update. Positions learned in game by players can be shared back (/petscout export).

• /petscout or /ps: open the codex. /petscout options, hud, bar, minimap, enemybar, tamers, achievements, guide, learn, count, help.
• Esc > Options > AddOns > PetScout: completion target, capture alerts and the higher level alert margin, weather alerts, weather sharing, enemy bar, map pins and counters, filter bar, minimap button, location learning, stable masters.

🌐 Languages

English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Pet, zone and ability names always come from your game client. Translations were written without native reviewers: report mistakes in the comments, they are fixed quickly.
