PawnForever - Alternative to Pawn

PawnForever tells you when something in your bags, or on offer from a quest giver, is better than what you're wearing. It was written from scratch for World of Warcraft: Forever and its new rules: one hit stat and one crit stat for melee, ranged and spells, healing gear that also gives spell damage, weapon damage that carries into druid forms, and Forever's single-tree talent system.

What you see

• A green arrow on bag items and quest rewards that beat what you have equipped. Works with the default bags and with Bagnon.
• A line on item tooltips with the item's score for your spec and, for upgrades, how much better it is ("+12% upgrade").
• A chat message when an upgrade lands in your bags, and /pf scan to list them all.

How it judges

• One set of stat weights per spec, for all nine classes. Auto follows the talent tree you have the most points in; you can also pick any scale by hand.
• Every weight is editable in the /pf window, per spec, and saved between sessions. Reset to defaults at any time.
• Talents are read, not assumed: Mental Dexterity, Careful Aim, Champion of the Light, Spiritual Guidance, Mental Quickness and Living Spirit change what Intellect or Spirit is worth, in proportion to the ranks you have.
• Hit stops counting at the cap. The addon reads your actual hit chance and only values an item's hit up to the point where attacks stop missing.
• Percent stats scale with level. One percent of crit is worth little at level 10 and a lot at 60; the weights are written at level 60 and scaled to you.
• Weapons are judged as a pair. Main hand and off hand are compared together, a slow weapon is credited for the harder-hitting abilities it enables, and if you hold a two-hander, a one-hander in your bags is judged with the best shield or off-hand you also carry.
• Enchants are ignored, so a fresh drop is compared with your gear on equal terms.
• Items you can't equip yet (level, class, armor type, skill) never get an arrow.

Where the default weights come from

Stat order follows the published Forever beta guides (Icy Veins, wow.gg, Leprestore, Warcraft Tavern). Sizes lean on the few Forever sims that publish numbers: foreverdb.net for warriors, rogues and hunters, and the Forever Mage Lab and Warlock Lab for casters. Tank survival stats come from an effective-health model sized to your own health and armor; healer stats from a mana model. Nobody has published tested level 60 weights for Forever yet, so treat every default as a starting point and adjust it in /pf. Each scale's window shows where its numbers came from.

• /pf debug with a shift-clicked item link – show exactly how an item was read
• /pf status – self-check: hooks, talents found, hit against the cap, errors
• /pf dump then /reload – save what was read from all your gear, for bug reports

Known limits

• Reads English item tooltips only.
• Trinkets with Use or proc effects can't be valued, so they are never called upgrades.
• A rogue dagger build (Backstab, Mutilate) is a checkbox in /pf, not something the addon can detect.
• WoW Forever is in beta; item wording, talents and stat values may change under it. If an item scores strangely, /pf debug shows what was read, and /pf dump is the fastest way to report it.
