OpenRoad Questing - never pay for a leveling guide
OpenRoad Guides is 100% free. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no premium tier.
Leveling guides should not cost money. Every route in OpenRoad is built by the community and shared back to the community, and every update is free for everyone.
- Free forever. Every guide, every zone, every feature. Nothing locked.
- Community-built. Routes improve from real quest data that players choose to share.
- Community-shared. What everyone shares goes into the next free update for everyone.
Free guides for WoW Forever and Classic Era. OpenRoad shows you what to do next, points you there, and moves on by itself when the step is done.
Features
- Step-by-step routes from level 1, for every Alliance and Horde starting zone, plus a Dungeon route and Mage AoE routes.
- Quest auto-detection. Pickups, turn-ins, kills, items, trainers, vendors, hearthstones and flight paths tick off on their own. If your quest log shows you are further along, the guide catches up.
- Waypoint arrow with distance. It turns green and points down when you arrive.
- Map and minimap markers with the game's ? and ! quest icons and step numbers, for every step in the guide window.
- Pick any zone. Start wherever you want. Each starting zone is tagged with its race, so a Human can pick the Night Elf start in Teldrassil, for example. The route carries on to the next zone when it ends.
- Quest tooltips. Hover a mob to see which quests it counts for and your progress (e.g. 4/10). Hover a quest NPC to see which guide step you hand in or pick up their quests.
- Sell Junk. Grey items sell automatically at vendors, or with one button.
- Game settings (optional): enemy nameplates, auto loot and max camera distance, set once for you.
- Done button to tick off a step by hand, plus Back to look at earlier steps.
- Rested XP shown in the guide window.
- Settings window (gear icon, right-click the minimap button, or
/or options): window and arrow size, text size, background opacity, pins, lock, and more. - Levels 1-21 in this beta. More zones are coming as community data comes in.

Community data (optional)
OpenRoad keeps a small local log of your quests: when you pick them up and turn them in, the XP gained, and where they start and end. It is saved only in your own SavedVariables\OpenRoadGuides.lua file. The addon never sends anything over the internet.
If you want to help improve the routes, you can share that file in one of two ways:
- OpenRoad Companion (Windows app) uploads it for you.
- Upload the file by hand at openroadquesting.com.
Shared data is combined across players and used to make the routes faster in later addon updates. Sharing is entirely optional and the guides work fully without it. See the privacy policy and terms on the website.
Why free?
Because questing guides belong to the players who quest. OpenRoad is made by SAD Software, the team behind MPR Score, and it is run as a community project. If you have paid for a leveling guide before, you do not need to anymore.
