MidnightGather is a lightweight, self-contained gathering addon for World of Warcraft: Midnight — think GatherMate2 + Routes in one package, plus a TomTom-style return-to-route arrow. It records every herb and ore node you gather, marks them on the world map and minimap, and then helps you farm them fast: draw a route by hand or auto-generate an efficient loop, and let an on-screen arrow guide you back whenever you drift off it. No bundled databases, no libraries, no lag — just your own finds and the fastest way around them.

New to gathering addons? MidnightGather replaces the classic GatherMate2 + Routes combo with a single, modern, zero-dependency addon built for Midnight.

Features

🌿 Automatic recording — herb or mine a node and it's saved instantly, with its real name (any game language). Supports Midnight Herbalism and Mining plus every older expansion's gathering.

🗺️ World map pins — clean custom icons (green herbs, golden ore) exactly where you found them. Hover for the node name and gather count; right-click to delete.

📍 Minimap pins — nearby nodes appear around you, handling zoom, indoors and rotating-minimap mode correctly, and tracking smoothly as you fly.

🧭 Routes — draw or auto-generate — plan farming routes on a built-in zone map: click to drop waypoints, drag them (Ctrl-select a group, or Ctrl-double-click the whole route, and move together), insert/delete/rename. Or hit Auto route and MidnightGather builds an efficient closed farming loop through the zone's nodes — then shape it live with Cluster radius, Ignore outliers and Smoothness sliders. Follow the active route as a smooth line on the world map and a breadcrumb trail on the minimap that stays accurate while flying.

🎯 Return-to-route arrow — wander off and an on-screen arrow points you back to the nearest point on your active route (distance shown, adjustable, auto-hiding).

🔍 Map filter — show/hide herb and ore markers independently with two draggable toggle buttons on the world map (or /mgather herb / /mgather ore).

🔄 Smart merging — re-gathering a respawn updates the existing pin instead of duplicating it (merge distance configurable).

📤 Import / Export — copy your nodes as text to another character or a friend; importing merges safely with what's already known.

🌐 Your language — full localization with an in-addon switcher (no reload). Ships with English, German, French, Italian, Russian and Ukrainian — Ukrainian is available even though the game client doesn't offer it.

🔔 Update reminder — a friendly one-time chat notice if a party/guild member runs a newer version. Peer-to-peer only; the addon never touches the internet.

⚙️ Options panel & minimap button — pin toggles, filters, distances, language, routes, and data management with confirmation dialogs, all a click away.

🏰 Open-world only — fully disables itself in dungeons, raids, arenas, battlegrounds and delves. Zero overhead in group content.

🪶 Lightweight and self-contained — no libraries, no dependencies.

Usage

Gather as usual — pins appear on their own.

• /mgather — options panel (also: left-click the minimap button)
• /mgather routes — open the route editor (draw or auto-generate)
• Right-click the minimap button — quick-switch routes / toggle the arrow
• /mgather herb · /mgather ore — toggle markers
• /mgather export · /mgather import — share window
• /mgather arrow — toggle / configure the return-to-route arrow
• Right-click a world map pin to remove it

Node data is stored per character; settings and routes are account-wide.
