What's new

016 (2026-09-29)

New

  • New module: MeierHelpers Bars. An experience bar that knows more, based on the Easy Experience Bar (visual design: Luxthos, original code: Daemoos). The code is written from scratch for MeierHelpers.
    • The bar shows your XP, your rested XP and - in orange - the XP of quests you have already finished and only need to hand in. It always has its own background and border; the texts above and below it stand freely.
    • On the bar: level, XP / needed (still missing) and the percentage, with the finished quests in brackets: 8.8% (9.3%).
    • Above it: time on this level, time this session and, optionally, your total time played. At max level the time played takes the place of the level time.
    • Below it: when you level up and your XP per hour (all XP of the session, not only kills), plus finished quests and rested XP in percent of the level.
    • Tooltip with all the numbers in detail, right-click menu with Reset session, the positioning mode and the settings.
    • Options: every text on or off (the window shrinks with it), width (380 by default), bar height, font size, bar in class color, colors for XP, quests and rested XP, show at max level, hide in pet battles, hide Blizzard's XP bar, new session after /reload, reset session.
    • Backgrounds: the bar's background and border like in General or in colors of your own. A background for the whole area - bar and texts - is optional (off by default), again like in General or in your own colors.
    • The session survives a /reload unless you want otherwise. On WoW Forever it starts over after every /reload for now, because the client doesn't load saved data yet.
  • Combine Level window and XP bar. New switch under Combine windows - on the Level page and on the Bars page, it's the same switch. Off by default.
    • The Level window closes and its line moves into the Bars window, right under the bar: 155 Mobs 1h 30m on the left, Ø 89 XP on the right - kill count color and average switch included.
    • Both times at a glance: the line above says when you level up at your XP per hour (all XP of the session), the Level line when you level up at your kill pace (kills only, breaks left out).
    • The Bars tooltip gets the kill section of the Level tooltip, the right-click menu gets Reset kill statistics.
    • It only works while both modules are on. Switch one of them off and the other one runs on its own again. Everything changes right away, no /reload.
    • The Level window has no frame of its own in the positioning mode while it's shown in Bars.

Changed

  • Compared to the Easy Experience Bar:
    • No updates twice a second. The quest log is only read when it changes, and the clock ticks once a minute - the times only show minutes anyway.
    • Asking the server for your played time no longer writes the /played message into your chat at every login.
    • Look, font, border and bar texture come from General, positioning works like for every other MeierHelpers window.
    • XP per hour only shows after the first minute of a session, so a single kill right after login doesn't produce a wild number.
