This is a fork of the LS:Glass Addon making it work in Classic
LS: Glass Classic is a WoW Classic Era port of LS: Glass by lightspark.
- Original addon on CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/ls-glass
- Original source on GitHub: https://github.com/ls-/ls_Glass
I did not write the original addon. All credit for it belongs to lightspark. The upstream addon targets retail, has been officially retired by its author, and he has stated he does not play Classic and will not support it there. This project exists only to keep his addon working on Classic Era.
This port is not maintained or endorsed by lightspark. Please do not send him bug reports about it. Report issues here or on the fork's GitHub page instead.
Licensed under the Apache License 2.0, same as upstream. A copy of the license and a list of the modifications ship inside the addon folder.
What it does
Chat messages slide and fade in as they arrive, then fade away once they are old. The chat frame, its tabs, its buttons and the dock stay invisible until you move your mouse over them, so your screen stays clean while you play.
It replaces the chat output itself rather than restyling the default frame, which is what makes the fading smooth.
Requirements
WoW Classic Era, patch 1.15.9 (Interface 11509). Hardcore realms included.
Install
Drop the ls_Glass folder into:
World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\
Options
Type /lsglass or /lsg in game.
Fade timing lives under Chat -> Fading -> Fade Out Delay, adjustable from 10 to 240 seconds. Font, background opacity, padding and the edit box can all be configured per chat window.
Prat 3.0
Both addons run together fine.
One thing to know: Prat's Editbox module takes over the chat input box. It reparents the box and applies its font directly, which overrides the Edit Box settings in this addon. If you want LS: Glass to control the input box, disable that single Prat module. Everything else in Prat keeps working. The config shows a reminder in that section while the module is active.
