LazyBags

A combined backpack and a vendor auto-seller in one — every bag in a single window, a socket you drag items into so they're never sold, and an auto-sell that actually clears your junk on the first visit.

LazyBags replaces the default bags with one window, sells your greys automatically when you open a vendor, and protects anything you tell it to. If Character Gear Optimizer is installed it also protects your saved gear sets and any item that scores as an upgrade under your stat weights — including upgrades you haven't equipped yet.

LazyBags is two jobs done properly. The bag side merges every container into a single grid with a protected tray beneath it. The vendor side clears junk on merchant open, one request at a time, verifying each sale actually happened rather than firing a burst and hoping — which is why it empties your bags in one visit instead of three. Items you drop into the protection socket are never sold, and neither is anything the gear optimizer is holding onto.

🎮 One Project, Every Supported WoW Version

LazyBags is a single CurseForge project with releases built for the current Retail and every Classic client. Download the file matching your game client — do not install a Retail package in a Classic client, or vice versa.

Important: Each release ZIP contains the LazyBags folder and its matching .toc. Verify the path is Interface\AddOns\LazyBags\LazyBags.toc before enabling. Every container call goes through a compatibility layer, so the same behaviour works from Classic Era through Retail.

⚔️ Core Features

The Combined Bag

All your containers merge into one window. Items are sorted with protected pieces first, then by quality, so the things you care about are always at the top. Each slot shows a quality ring around the icon rather than a colour wash over it, stack counts sit bottom-right, and the grid pads out to show your free space instead of implying it.

• Capacity readout — used and total slots in the header.
• Gold — your current money along the bottom, updating live.
• Bank view — toggle to browse bank contents in the same window.
• Drag anywhere — pick items up, move them between slots, equip them, exactly as you would from the default bag.

The Protection Socket

A single socket sits under the grid. Drag any item onto it and that item is protected forever — no list to edit, no rules to write. The protected tray beside it shows everything currently held back, colour-coded by why:

• Orange — you protected it yourself.
• Gold — Character Gear Optimizer is holding it, because it's in a saved set or scores as an upgrade.

Right-click a protected item, or press Y on it, to release it. Gear-optimizer holds refuse to be released individually, because they come straight back the moment the set is rebuilt — /lbags cgo turns that protection off wholesale instead.

Auto-Sell That Works First Time

Most auto-sellers fire every sale in the same frame. The server silently drops queued sell requests, which is why they need two or three vendor visits to clear a bag. LazyBags sends one request per tick and then checks whether the slot actually emptied, retrying the ones that didn't. A full bag of junk clears on the first visit.

• Skips anything protected, locked, readable, a container with loot, or worth no money.
• Configurable quality threshold — poor only by default.
• Reports what it did: sold, retried, failed, protected.

Gear Optimizer Integration

When Character Gear Optimizer is installed, LazyBags asks it what must never be sold. That covers every item in a saved gear set, the set currently displayed in the optimizer panel, and — the part that matters — any item that scores as an upgrade for any of your weight profiles, including upgrades still sitting in your bags unequipped. Those appear in the protected tray in gold so you can see exactly what's being held and why.

Without the optimizer installed, LazyBags runs perfectly well on your own protection list alone.

Controller Support

The bag is fully navigable with a gamepad, following the same button legend as Blizzard's own bag so there's nothing new to learn.

• D-pad / left stick — move around the grid; press down past the bottom row to walk into the protected tray.
• A — pick up the focused item.
• X — use or equip it.
• Y — protect it, or release it when you're in the tray.
• B — close.
• Right trigger — jump to the bag from anywhere. Left trigger — jump to the gear optimizer.

👥 Built For Every Kind of Player

• Casual players: Open a vendor and your junk is gone. Drag anything you want to keep onto the socket once and forget about it.
• Raiders: Gear-set protection means you can clear your bags at a vendor without ever losing a set piece or an off-spec upgrade.
• Levelling and alts: One bag window, protected heirlooms, and no accidental vendoring of quest rewards you meant to keep.
• Hoarders: The protected tray gives you a single view of everything you've marked as untouchable.
• Controller players: The entire bag, including the protected tray, is reachable without a mouse.

📝 Notes

• Settings and your protection list persist per character via LazyBagsDB.
• Character Gear Optimizer is an optional dependency — the bag and auto-sell work fully without it.
• Blizzard's combined-bag setting is turned off while LazyBags is active, and restored if you disable bag replacement with /lbags replace.
• All container access goes through a compatibility layer, so the same code runs from Classic Era through Retail.
• Protection lists are migrated automatically from the older CombinedBag addon on first login.
• /lbags diag reports exactly what the addon is doing if anything misbehaves.
