Description

Listen here, landlubber. Jolly Fisher is the only tackle box you’ll ever need, and I’ve worn out three of the old kind.

It counts every cast. Every single one. Then it times it, from the moment your line hits the water to the moment you yank it back, so you’ll know your fastest catch, your slowest, and your average, down to the tenth of a second.

It keeps you honest. A real catch is green, a miss is red, and the game’s own words tell you why, whether the fish got away or you clicked like a fool before anything bit. Recasting to land your bobber in a pool? That’s aiming, son, not failing, and it doesn’t count against you.

It knows your lure. It reads the bonus and the name off your pole, counts down the minutes in real time, shouts at you when there’s one minute left, and shouts again when it’s gone. It’ll even tell you your catch rate with a lure and without one, so you’ll know whether those Nightcrawlers are earning their keep.

It hunts pools. Hover your mouse over a school and it remembers which one you’re working. Walk away from it, or hit the Drop pool button when it dries up, and it lets go.

It writes down everything. Every catch gets the time, the zone, the exact spot, your skill at that moment, and what it’s worth. Pound fish are valued at a silver a pound when the game’s being stingy with prices.

Every trip is a trip. It starts with your first cast and ends when you put the pole away, and then it tells you straight how you did: catches, casts, minutes, and gold.

And then there’s the Grimoire. A fishing journal handed down through a thousand years of fishers, stained with tea, ringed by mugs, scorched by campfires, and chewed on by at least one fish. Your name’s written in it in gold. Open it and you’ll find your current trip, live as you fish. Every area you’ve fished, with every spot you’ve pulled from, and every pool. Click a spot and a waypoint pin takes you right back to it. A page for every fish, showing everywhere you’ve ever caught it.

Every catch wears its trade. A little pot for cooking, a flask for alchemy, a coin for the vendor, a box for things you open, with the skill level you need beside it. That number turns green when you know the recipe. Click the symbol and the book takes you straight to the vendor who sells it.

It keeps your recipe notes. Target a vendor, click Create Note, and shift-click whatever they sell, or grab every recipe they’ve got in one click. It writes down the skill level and the price for you. No typing, because real fishers have wet hands.

It reads the market. Open the auction house, click Check fish prices, and it looks up every fish you know. Then the Grimoire shows you the auction price next to the vendor price, so you’ll never sell a prize catch for scraps again.

It gives you a mystery. If your notes speak of a fish you’ve never landed, it goes on the Fish Yet to Catch page with its name half hidden and a clue to where the recipe’s sold. The first time you finally land one, the parchment unrolls across your screen. Mystery solved.

And it stays out of your way. One little button on the edge of your minimap. Left-click for the Grimoire, right-click for the quick window, shift-click for your notes.

Now quit reading and go cast a line.
