WHAT THE ADDON IS FOR:
InRange is there to give you a visua indicator of your melee range.
If you've ever been stacked with 10 other melee characters in a boss fights with spells going off all over the screen, you'll have encountered moments where somehow you have moved just out of range of your target and are basically doing nothing.
Sure you can look at your abilities and see the tiny red dot in the corner, or see the red message across your screen that tells you you're not in range.. but that's usually not enough.
InRange gives you a nice/simple/lightway 'in your face' indicator of whether or not you are in range.
Green = In Range, Red = Out of range, Black = no valid target selected
HOW THE ADDON WORKS:
Although the API is quite simple when it comes to spell range, it can be tricky to get it to work with melee.
The addon uses specific melee abilities to test the range. unfortunately, not all classes and specs have such abilities.
Below is the list of class/spec combos that the addon DOES work for:
- Rogue : Once you have "Sinister Strike" (All levels)
- Warrior : Once you have "Rend" (level 4)
- Druid : Once you have "Claw" (level 20)
- Hunter : If you spec into CounterAttack (Survival 21pt)
- Shaman : If you spec into Stormstrike (Enhancement 31pt)
The addon will not work for Mage / Warlock / Priest / Paladin
INSTALLATION:
- Copy the "InRange" folder into your Wow Classic \Interface\AddOns\ folder
- Restart World of Warcraft Classic
HOW TO ACTIVATE:
Just log in and you should see a semi-transparent black square under your character
Left-click it to open the addon config (size and position lock) or right-click to drag it around.
The square should light up in green or red whenever you target an enemy mob (assuming you fit the categories listed above)
