Description
Fishing from the controller for WoW Forever, part of Improved Forever. Needs the core (Improved Forever) and Improved Forever: Wiki.
Fishing mode
A fishing pole in hand doesn't start fishing: a line top left says how. R2 twice (or a double right-click on the world) starts it:
- R2 casts, R2 twice puts your best lure on the pole
- D-pad up (or Up) opens the Fish Collection
- Triangle (or Alt + F) frames the fishing camera: distance, left / right, height
- Circle (or Esc) stops fishing; with a window open they're that window's
Each cast, a scene
- The HUD steps back and the camera comes in over your shoulder
- The bobber flies out on its line, its time lit along the line and round it
- The fish that water holds swim round your bobber and nose at the bait: the ones you've caught in their colours
- A catch is reeled in and flies to your stringer; a miss sinks away
- The session's catches hang on a rope stringer under the minimap, the chat faint beside it, your fishing skill along the bottom edge
- Catches are looted at once; the game's loot window stays away
Fish Collection
Every fish and item you've caught: when and where first, how many times, sorted by the level of the waters they come from, with a filter like the Legacy window's. Cross opens its Wiki page, which shows where it can be fished. The first time you catch a new fish, it gets a cinematic of its own.
Everything is set up and used from the controller; the mouse and keyboard work too.
