HiddenBeauty - Forever
What's new
v2.0.1 (2026-10-19)
Polish update for 2.0.0 based on playtesting.
Your saved settings, profiles, and folded sections are preserved. No action needed on your part.
Bug Fixes
- Particle Density range corrected. On Forever, the highest supported Particle Density is High. The slider previously offered Ultra (which snapped back to High).
- All Blizzard dropdown settings in the quick menu now show only levels your PC and the game support (matching Blizzard’s own dropdowns). If the lowest level isn’t supported, the slider starts at the first available level.
- Slider ends, numbers under the slider, and tooltips all reflect the supported range.
- Presets, profiles, Revert, and Blizzard’s Graphics Quality slider never apply unsupported levels. If a saved value or profile contains one, the nearest supported level is used and chat reports it (e.g. “Particle Density: Ultra is not supported here, used High.”).
- Quick menu stays open with other windows. Opening the spellbook, talents, map, or other Blizzard windows no longer closes the quick menu (including in combat). An open Profiles window also stays open.
- Escape still closes it, and pending changes still trigger the usual reminder.
- Blizzard’s Options window, the game menu, and full-screen scenes (cinematics, barber shop, Trading Post) still close it as before.
- Keep/Revert box could briefly cover a question that appeared below another one. It now always sits below the lowest question.
- Fixed double space in the chat line about another addon changing your settings.
- The chat prompt to close Blizzard’s Options window now correctly names its buttons: Apply or Close.
- Bug-report window’s first line now shows the full addon name: Hidden Beauty – Forever.
Visual Changes
- Gold border on every window. The quick menu, full panel, Keep/Revert box, Profiles, and bug-report window all use a full gold border (dark outer line, three-step gold edge, black inner line).
- Small gold diamond studs in each of the four corners.
- Close (X) buttons sit further in and draw under the border so the top-right stud and gold edge remain visible.
- Header plate studs removed.
- Border drawn from plain colors (no dependency on game textures).
Naming and Wording
- Title Case used for buttons, tabs, section headers, and window titles: Reset All, Revert Now, Yes, Apply, Keep Editing, Quick Menu, Full Panel, Re-apply Saved, Auto-load on Login, Quick Settings tab, and Hidden Beauty Bug Report window.
- Section headers: View Distance, Shadows & Lighting, Grass & Ground Clutter, Particles & Effects, and Blizzard Graphics. Folded/unfolded state is preserved.
- Tooltips, questions, and chat lines use normal sentences. Every chat line starts with a capital letter after “Hidden Beauty:”. Text that names a button uses the button’s exact name.
- Blizzard settings in the quick menu use the names from Options > Graphics:
- SSAO (was “Ambient shadows level”)
- PBR Liquid Detail (was “Realistic water (PBR)”)
- Compute Effects (was “Fog & compute effects”)
- Projected Textures (was “Ground spell markers”)
- Secondary Lighting (was “Lighting quality”)
- Ray Traced Shadows
- Resample Quality (was “Upscaling method”)
- Liquid Detail is labeled Legacy Liquid Detail where the game offers PBR water (matching Blizzard’s window).
- Graphics Quality row (and all Hidden Beauty text that references it) uses Blizzard’s own label (e.g. “Base Game Quality”).
- Levels use Blizzard’s names: “Disabled” instead of “Off”; Liquid Detail maxes at “High”; Low Latency Mode lists Auto Detect, Disabled, Built-in, NVIDIA Reflex, NVIDIA Reflex + Boost, and Intel XeLL; Resample Quality’s top level is “FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0”.
- Search box still finds settings by their old names.
- Tooltips no longer call Blizzard’s sliders “presets.” They name the specific slider or dropdown (e.g. “Blizzard’s Shadow Quality setting overwrites this.”). Low, Balanced, and High remain the only presets.
- “Raid and Battleground” matches Blizzard’s wording. Checkbox is now Also write to the Raid and Battleground graphics settings.
- Counts read naturally (“1 setting”, “3 settings”) instead of “setting(s)” in chat, minimap tooltip, panel footer, and reminder.
- Keep/Revert box says “Back to your previous settings in 30 seconds” (was “Reverting in 30s”). Timeout chat line says “not confirmed within 30 seconds”.
- Cost badge reads “No FPS cost” (consistent with “Low cost” / “High cost”).
- Blizzard rows show level as “Options > Graphics: 7 / 10” (was “Options menu: 7 / 10”).
- American English spelling throughout (color, colorblind, gray, behavior). “Grey screen while dead” is now “Gray screen while dead”.
- Tooltips no longer use all-caps for emphasis.
- Warning tooltip title is now “Changed by Another Addon”.
- Chat consistently says “Blizzard’s Options window”. Levels display as “7 / 10”. /hb apply with nothing to do reports that clearly (instead of “Re-applied 0 saved settings”). A revert with nothing to undo says “nothing needed restoring”. Login note about an unconfirmed change is skipped when there was nothing to undo.
- Tooltip fixes: Low Latency Mode notes “no direct FPS cost” (it can still slightly lower FPS). Indirect lighting warns about levels above 4 (where its slider stops).
- Smaller wording cleanups: “the Hidden Beauty panel” (was “the options panel”), “Blizzard’s Options window” (was “Blizzard’s options”), and shorter Reset All confirmation (“Put every setting it changed back to the value it had before?”).
- Bug-report window’s first line now shows the full addon name: Hidden Beauty – Forever.
