HelloUI

De-clutters the stock Classic Era interface and arranges the bars through Blizzard's own Edit Mode — no art overhaul, no replacement frames.

1.15.9 brought Edit Mode to Classic Era, which made most of what a UI addon used to do the client's job. HelloUI does the rest: it strips the noise off Blizzard's own frames and writes one Edit Mode layout, rather than shipping a texture set and a layout engine of its own.

What it does

  • Hides keybind and macro text across bars 1–8, stance and pet. The one thing here with no native setting at all.
  • Decides which bars are up — bars 1–5 shown, 6–8 hidden by default. Whatever your bars were set to before is remembered and handed straight back if you switch HelloUI off.
  • Hides the gryphons and the bar backdrop, the same two frames Blizzard's own "Hide Bar Art" drives.
  • XP and reputation numbers always on screen, and the bars narrowed to the width of the action bar stack instead of Blizzard's 1024px.
  • A flat cast bar — border art off, spell name left, countdown right (the client has no region for one). If a sibling addon draws its own cast bar, Blizzard's steps aside through the client's own setting for that case.
  • Darkmode — one switch. Desaturates and tints Blizzard's frame art: unit frames, the minimap and its buttons, the bar backdrop, the cast bars.
  • Class-coloured player health bar.
  • Fixes two Blizzard bugs on the minimap — the tracking button, which Era declares with no parent and strands in the corner of the screen next to your player frame, and the clock, whose digits sit crooked in their box.
  • Builds the DragonflightUI bar arrangement as a real Edit Mode layout named HelloUI: bars stacked and centred, 80% icons, 2px padding, with the cast bar, chat frame, minimap, micro menu and bags moved clear. It asks once at login and never applies itself silently. Your own layouts are never touched — switch back in Edit Mode whenever you like.

Because Edit Mode saves your dragging into the layout, re-running /hui layout is the reset.

Profiles

Settings belong to a profile and each character picks one, so alts can differ. The bar layout follows the profile too, so that is one decision rather than two.

Commands

/hui opens the options. /hui layout builds or resets the bar arrangement, /hui profile manages profiles, /hui off stops HelloUI re-asserting anything and hands Blizzard's own state back.

What it deliberately doesn't do

No texture set, no replacement unit frames, no party or raid frames, no nameplates. Positions go into an Edit Mode layout rather than being anchored behind the client's back, so nothing here fights Blizzard's own UI or taints it.

Requires Classic Era 1.15.9 or later.
