GoldPrinter scans the AH and finds recipes where you can make a guaranteed profit just by buying the mats and vendoring the crafted items.
GoldPrinter
Some crafts sell to a vendor for more than their reagents cost on the auction house. Not many, but they exist. Finding them by hand means checking a few hundred recipes one at a time, and redoing it every time prices move.
GoldPrinter does that check for you. One scan of the auction house and you get a sorted list of every craft that comes out ahead, with the numbers behind it.
Works on: The Burning Crusade Classic and Anniversary realms
What's included
The full TBC recipe database ships with the addon — 1,868 recipes across Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Cooking, Enchanting, Engineering, First Aid, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Smelting and Tailoring.
You don't need to know a profession to see its numbers, so you can look at what a profession would actually earn you before deciding to level it.
Getting started
- Drop the
GoldPrinterfolder intoInterface\AddOnsand reload. - Give it about half a minute after your first login. It asks the server for the vendor price of every craftable item and caches the answers, so this only happens once. Type
/goldprinter loadif you'd rather not wait. - Visit an auctioneer and click the GoldPrinter Scan button at the top right of the auction window. The game will freeze for a few seconds while it reads the results. That's normal — every full-auction scanner does the same thing.

Reading the list

Click any column header to sort by it, click again to flip the order. Hover a row for the full breakdown: every reagent, what it costs, whether the price came from the auction house or a vendor, and how far the cheap lots go before the craft stops paying.
The total is not simply profit multiplied by quantity. Buying in bulk eats through the cheapest listings and the price climbs, so the addon walks the offers from the bottom up and stops counting where the craft breaks even.

Worth knowing
Blizzard allows a full scan roughly once every 15 minutes. If you're on cooldown and want numbers now, /goldprinter scan slow walks the reagent list one query at a time instead. It takes about a minute, but there's no limit on it.
Thread, dye, flux, vials and other vendor goods never show up on the auction house, so their prices are built into the addon. Where a reagent can be had both ways, the cheaper source wins. These are base vendor prices — reputation discounts only push them lower, so if anything the profit shown is on the conservative side.
Reagents that are themselves crafted are priced at what they cost on the auction house, not at what it would cost to make them.
Expect a short list. Vendor-profit crafts are rare in TBC, and that's the whole reason to have something check all 1,868 of them instead of guessing.
