v1.2.1
What's new
Maintenance and unit-frame compatibility release. GMUI now draws its own Target of Target frame (completing the Player, Target, Target of Target and Focus set), and the aura rows and cast bars of the Target, Focus and Boss frames now follow their frame reliably when it is turned off, turned back on, or changed by a profile switch.
Upgrading
Nothing to do. Your existing profiles and settings are kept exactly as they are, no settings are migrated and the saved-settings format is unchanged. One visible difference: if Blizzard's Settings > Combat > Target of Target option is on and the GMUI Target frame is active, GMUI's Target of Target frame now appears under the Target frame in place of Blizzard's. Turn it off under Options > Unit Frames > Target > Target of Target Frame (Enabled) to keep using Blizzard's. If you go back to 1.2.0 afterwards, it ignores the new Target of Target settings (they stay in your file, untouched).
New
- Target of Target frame. A GMUI frame showing your target's target (health and name), configurable under Options > Unit Frames > Target > Target of Target Frame (Enabled, width and height, colours, name text) and movable in Layout Mode. It follows Blizzard's own Settings > Combat > Target of Target option and is shown only while the GMUI Target frame is active. The section's Status line says why it is or is not shown.
- Blizzard's Target of Target is handed over and handed back cleanly. Blizzard's frame is hidden only once GMUI's is fully built, and is returned when GMUI's is turned off, the GMUI Target frame is turned off, or Blizzard's option is off. Blizzard decides when its frame shows again: it may stay hidden until its next update, for example until you change target (see Known limitations).
- Focus Target of Target stays Blizzard's: GMUI never hides or replaces it, whatever the Focus frame setting is.
Fixed
- Target, Focus and Boss auras and cast bars follow their frame. Turning one of these frames off now also removes its aura rows, dispel highlight and cast bar (before, they could stay registered and sit at the centre of the screen), and Blizzard's own cast bar for that unit comes back. Turning the frame on again restores them, with the settings you had. Frame changes made in combat are applied when combat ends, and the aura rows and cast bar stay with their frame until then.
- Profile switches and module re-enabling. Switching to a profile that turns these frames off removes their auras and cast bars, and switching back restores them. Disabling and re-enabling the Unit Frames module now restores every frame it removed, not only the Target of Target.
/gmui totdiagreports the state of Blizzard's Target of Target frame (shown, visible, alpha, parent) to make bug reports precise.
Compatibility
- Existing profiles remain compatible and keep their settings. No settings migration is performed.
- Profile switching, Import / Export and Reset Profile cover the new Target of Target settings. A string exported from 1.2.0 imports unchanged and leaves them at their defaults.
- The Player cast bar is unchanged and does not depend on the Player frame.
Known limitations
- After GMUI's Target of Target is turned off, Blizzard's own Target of Target can stay hidden until Blizzard next updates it; switching target away and back brings it back. GMUI does not force it, to stay clear of Blizzard's protected and secret-value logic.
