HOW IT WORKS

G.E.A.R. Check 5000 works with World of Warcraft's built-in Equipment Manager.

Simply name your equipment sets using supported prefixes.

Basic Setup

For players who just want PvE and PvP gear:

PVE Main
PVP Main

That's it.

A standard PVE set works across all PvE content, making the addon just as simple as it was originally designed to be.

Want more control?

That's where G.E.A.R. Check 5000 gets interesting.

ADVANCED PVE GEAR CHECKING

You can create specialized equipment sets for different types of PvE content.

Supported prefixes include:

PVE RAID
For your Raid equipment.

PVE DELVE
For your Delve equipment.

PVE DUNGEON
For standard Dungeon equipment.

PVE M+
For Mythic+ equipment.

G.E.A.R. Check 5000 compares the content you're entering against the equipment set you're actually wearing.

Example:

You're wearing:

PVE RAID

You enter a:

DELVE

G.E.A.R. Check 5000 detects the mismatch and fires:

The status display can also tell you exactly what went wrong:

OPEN WORLD CHECKING

The open world is treated as general PvE content.

If you're running around Azeroth wearing a PVP equipment set, G.E.A.R. Check 5000 can remind you to switch back.

Any PvE set is considered valid in general open-world content, including:

PVE
PVE RAID
PVE DELVE
PVE DUNGEON
PVE M+

CONTENT ALERT CONTROLS

Inside the addon Settings you'll find individual toggles for:

• Battlegrounds

There are also overall PvE and PvP master switches.

This means you can make G.E.A.R. Check 5000 as aggressive—or as quiet—as you want.

FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE ALERTS

G.E.A.R. Check 5000 doesn't require slash commands.

Everything is handled through the normal World of Warcraft AddOns Settings interface.

Go to:

Options → AddOns → G.E.A.R. Check 5000

From there you can customize:

• Alert message
• Alert text color
• Alert font size
• Alert duration
• Alert position
• Frame width
• Frame height
• Background color
• Background opacity
• Border color
• Border opacity
• Border thickness
• Header visibility
• Status/footer visibility

Unlock the alert to reposition it, then lock it back down when you're happy.

BUILT-IN FRAME PRESETS

Don't want to spend ten minutes adjusting sliders?

The Goblins have provided several pre-engineered solutions.

Goblin Tech

The intended G.E.A.R. Check 5000 experience.

Goblin green, machinery-inspired styling, and absolutely no respect for subtlety.

Minimal

A smaller, cleaner warning for players who don't need an entire Goblin engineering department occupying their screen.

Raid Warning

Bigger.

Louder.

Angrier.

You screwed up, and now your UI knows it.

Transparent

Strips away most of the frame and lets the warning itself do the work.

Selecting a preset automatically updates the corresponding customization controls.

And unlike some questionable Goblin products, you aren't locked into the preset.

Every setting can still be adjusted afterward.

ALARM SYSTEM

Seeing the warning wasn't enough?

Fine.

G.E.A.R. Check 5000 can also make noise.

Available alarm sounds include:

• Raid Warning
• Ready Check
• Goblin Alarm Clock
• Auction House Ding
• PvP Queue

You can also choose how many times the alarm repeats.

Or disable the sound entirely.

TEST BEFORE YOU REGRET

The Settings panel includes a built-in Test Alarm.

Customize your frame.

Change the colors.

Adjust the size.

Pick your alarm.

Hit TEST THE ALARM.

There's no need to repeatedly enter a dungeon wearing the wrong gear just to configure the addon.

IT DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR GEAR

G.E.A.R. Check 5000 does not automatically equip equipment sets.

That's intentional.

The addon detects the problem and alerts you.

You remain responsible for actually pressing the button.

We built the alarm.

We're not dressing you.

It's a focused quality-of-life addon.

It checks your gear when relevant events occur, determines whether your tagged equipment set matches the content you're playing, and gets out of the way when everything is correct.
