Azeroth Public Library: Forever

Summary

Azeroth Public Library (APL) automatically preserves the written lore you discover throughout Warcraft Forever in a permanent in-game library.

When you discover and open books, scrolls, plaques, and other readable lore objects, APL captures their text so you can revisit it later without returning to the original location.

APL does not preload or reveal undiscovered lore. Your library grows naturally as you explore Azeroth and read what you find.

This addon is designed for players who enjoy Warcraft’s worldbuilding, exploration, and collectible written content.

Features

Automatic Lore Collection

Readable lore entries are automatically preserved after you discover and open them in the world.

For books containing multiple pages, APL processes the complete book so its full text can be archived.

Account-Wide Library

Collected lore is stored in one shared library, allowing you to revisit your discoveries from any character on the account.

Each lore entry is stored only once, preventing duplicate copies of the same book.

Character-Specific Discoveries

APL also records which characters have personally discovered each entry.

Enable Show only this character’s discoveries in Settings to view a library containing only the lore found by your current character.

When another character encounters a book already stored in the account-wide library, that character receives their own discovery credit.

Character-Aware Removal

While viewing only the current character’s discoveries, removing an entry removes that character’s discovery credit without deleting the account-wide copy.

Removing an entry from the account-wide view deletes the saved library entry for the entire account, allowing it to be rediscovered naturally.

Searchable In-Game Library

Browse and revisit your collected lore from one central interface. Search entries by title or filter the library by discovered zones.

Zone-Based Organization

Entries are organized by the zone where they were discovered, making the library easier to browse while preserving a sense of place and exploration.

Only zones containing lore you have personally discovered appear in the library.

Favorites System

Mark important entries as favorites and use the Favorites only filter for quick access.

Notes Section

Add personal notes to individual lore entries.

Move Entries

Move discovered entries between available zone categories when an entry needs to be reorganized.

Clean Reading Interface

The library uses a focused, Warcraft-inspired reading interface designed to feel at home within Warcraft Forever.

Minimap Button

Open the library quickly using the optional minimap button.

How It Works

1. Find a readable lore object while exploring the world.
2. Open and read it normally in-game.
3. Azeroth Public Library preserves the entry and records the discovering character.
4. Open APL anytime to browse, search, favorite, annotate, or manage your library.
5. Choose between your account-wide collection and the current character’s personal discoveries.

Settings

APL includes options to:

• Enable or disable automatic lore capture
• Enable or disable capture notifications
• Show or hide the minimap button
• Show only the current character’s discoveries
• Reset the addon window layout

Settings are preserved automatically.

Intended Scope

Azeroth Public Library is built to preserve discoverable written world lore such as:

• Books
• Scrolls
• Plaques
• Similar readable world objects

It is intended as a lore-collection companion for exploration and reading—not as a database of undiscovered content.

Warcraft Forever Philosophy

APL is designed to support the authentic Warcraft Forever experience.

It does not provide a prefilled lore database, reveal undiscovered books, direct you toward unread lore, or replace the act of exploration. Every entry in your library begins with something you personally discovered in the world.

Beta Support

This edition is being developed specifically for Warcraft Forever and is currently in beta. Features and compatibility may be adjusted as the Warcraft Forever client continues to develop.
