Description

AMR Adventurer's Pack

An Azeroth Morning Radio addon for WoW Forever

The Adventurer's Pack remembers your character's journey so you don't have to. Every session becomes a newspaper, every milestone becomes a line in your character's Chronicle, and the way you actually play slowly earns your character names, marks and a reputation of their own. Along the way, it shows you which players around you are fellow Azeroth Morning Radio listeners.

It never tells you where to go or what to do next. It only remembers what you've already done, and turns it into a story.

What the Pack does

It writes you a newspaper every time you log in

The Morning Paper is written about your last session. Your biggest moment makes the front page, with sections around it:

  • Last Session: how long you played and what you got done.
  • Where We Left You: where you logged out.
  • Threads Still Open: the quests you were in the middle of.
  • The Casualty Report: every fall, told with sympathy and a little mockery.
  • Classifieds written from what's in your own bags, and Letters to the Editor quoting your journal.
  • Letters from Home: someone back home reacting to what they've heard about you.
  • On This Day, Last Night's Dream after a night at the inn, and a "Previously On…" when you've been away a week or more.
  • Holiday editions while in-game holidays are running, and once a year, on your character's anniversary, The Year in Review.

Then Shiffty and Griffty, AMR's resident goblins, get their hands on it. They cross out the credits, sign the stories, scribble gossip and bets about you in the margins, and answer your letters by hand.

It keeps a Chronicle in your character's voice

The Chronicle writes itself as you play, grouped into chapters by level. It records:

  • new lands, dungeons and levels
  • notable deaths, narrow escapes, and trophies from elites, rares and bosses
  • rare and epic finds, and standing with the peoples of Azeroth
  • duels, journeys, guilds, professions and retired gear

It holds up to 5,000 moments, and you can search and filter them.

It recognizes what you've earned, rarely and meaningfully

Nothing in the Pack is a checklist, and it never shows you a list of things to grind. It watches how you actually play and recognizes it, the way a tabletop game master would. You're not the chosen one of Azeroth, just a well-worn adventurer with stories to show for it.

  • Names: earned for how you really live, from lands walked to foes remembered to years on the road. Wear one and it follows your name, even on your tooltip.
  • Vows: swear an oath and the Pack holds you to it: no falls for three days, get even with your nemesis, sleep only at inns. There are 47 kinds, in over 100 variations.
  • Distinguishing Marks: 33 marks earned only through what you do. A scar from something that nearly killed you. Green fingertips from years of herbalism. A sailor's walk from too many sea crossings. They're noticed only in quiet moments of rest.
  • Storied Weapons: a weapon that has seen 500 foes and battles worth remembering earns the right to a name.
  • Bonds: share enough road with someone and they become a trail companion, a comrade, and one day a brother- or sister-in-arms.
  • Renown: the lands you spend time in come to know you, from a familiar face to one of the locals. Your standing with the local faction counts too.
  • Quiet moments: rest at an inn or sit by a campfire, and your character may have a thought about the day, which you can keep in your journal.

It shows you fellow listeners in the world

  • The AMR mic mark appears on a fellow listener's portrait and nameplate, so you'll know one when you see one.
  • Their tooltip shows the name they've earned, their title, and what they're up to right now. It updates within seconds when they change it.
  • Their Traveler's Papers are one right-click away: their homeland, motto, the marks the road has left on them, and their story in their own words.
  • Seen on the Road: pass another listener and the goblins may mention it in your next Morning Paper.

Sharing is on by default, but only your badge and the papers you wrote are ever shared. Turn it off any time and everything stays private. You can hide anyone's papers from yourself with one click.

Everything in the Pack

The Morning Paper: your last session as a newspaper, with Ask the Goblins, a Note to Future Me, and a link to the show.

Journal: your own pages, with search, favorites and sorting.

Chronicle: your journey in your character's voice, with search and filters.

Traveler:

  • Papers: who your character is. Your title, homeland, motto and story, your mount's name, your Distinguishing Marks, your Storied Weapons, and "How the Road Sees You," habits the road has noticed on its own.
  • Deeds: the names you've earned, the vows you've sworn, and the lands that know you.
  • Keepsakes: items worth remembering, each with a line about why.
  • Companions: everyone you've traveled with, kept private to you. Mark them Friend, Rival, Kin, Sweetheart, Business or Wary Of, and watch your bonds grow.

Ledger: your road in numbers, plus the News Desk's highlights: your Nemesis, your Favorite Haunt, your Most Trusted Companion, and more.

Tell the Tale: a one-minute story of your character's whole journey, or just this week. Copy it to share, or send it to Azeroth Morning Radio for the chance to have yours made into a brief audio production.

Settings: every option inside the Pack itself, including window size and character backups.

Ask the Goblins

Type in a question and Shiffty or Griffty rolls a d20 and gives you their verdict. It runs from a critical fail ("No. Also, that'll be 5 copper for the bad news.") to a natural 20, when both goblins agree, which never happens. Roll privately, or Roll for Real with the game's own /roll so your whole group sees the result.

New episode alerts

When a new episode of Azeroth Morning Radio goes live on Tuesday, a goblin news slip hangs from your Pack for 24 hours with links to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.

Built for WoW Forever

  • No spoilers. The Pack only records what you've already done. It never hints at routes, quests or content ahead.
  • Follows the WoW Forever addon rules. Nothing plays the game for you. Chat messages and rolls only happen when you click.
  • Available in 10 languages: English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文 and 繁體中文. Stories are written to match your character's gender where the language needs it.
  • Your story is safe. Back up any character's whole Pack as a block of text, and restore it if anything is ever lost.
