FriendGroups Version 12.1.08 Changelog
Custom Friend Nicknames
- Set Custom Names: Players can right-click a friend on their list and select "Set Nickname" to assign a custom display name.
- Distinct Visuals: Custom nicknames replace the standard BattleTag or Account Name, rendering in a distinct bright green (
#00ff00) to ensure they never clash with class colors or the standard Battle.net pale blue. - Easy Removal: Nicknames can be instantly cleared and reverted to the default Battle.net name by opening the prompt and saving an empty text box.
"Select Main" Character Pinning
- Manual Override: When Alt Tracking is enabled, players can access a new "Select Main" sub-menu by right-clicking a friend on their list.
- Clean Selection UI: The menu automatically populates with all of that friend's known alts, properly class-colored and sorted alphabetically.
- Visual Priority: The selected main character is pinned to the very top of the Known Alts hover tooltip and marked clearly with a custom checkmark icon.
- Dynamic 'aka' Tag: The designated main character dictates the name that appears in the
aka [Name]tag on the primary friends list. - Smart Toggles: The menu includes a "Clear Selected Main" option, and the entire sub-menu intelligently hides itself if the user has disabled the core Alt Tracking feature.
Custom Group Banner Colors
- Personalized Headers: Players can right-click any custom group header (such as Auto-Guild groups or manual
#notegroups) to apply a custom background banner color. - Live Preview: Dragging the cursor around the hex color picker instantly updates the banner color on the friends list in real-time without causing any UI lag.
- Memory & Reset: The color picker remembers the exact hex color previously chosen. A "Clear Banner Color" button allows for instant removal, and intelligently hides itself if no custom color is currently applied.
Instructional Group Tooltips
- Hover Instructions: Hovering over any custom or guild group header now reveals a helpful, dynamic tooltip.
- Usage Guidance: The tooltip explains how to manually add players to that specific group (e.g., instructing them to type
#GroupNamein the friend's note). - Feature Discoverability: The tooltip includes a bright green hint letting users know they can right-click the header to utilize the new custom banner color picker.
Known Alts Panel UI Polish
- Compact Spacing: The Known Alts tooltip has been optimized for readability. Full-height blank lines separating characters have been replaced with custom half-height (50%) gaps. This prevents the tooltip from inflating with empty space, keeping the UI compact even when a friend has 10+ tracked alts.
